Property Description

Bluesock Hostels Porto is located in Ribeira, the historical centre of Porto, on the banks of the Duero River and just steps from the city’s main attractions. From the hostel you can walk to Praça da Ribeira, Palácio da Bolsa, Alfandega Congress Centre and many other places you won’t want to miss. We are also surrounded by loads of restaurants, terraces, shops, cafés and wineries to lose yourself in.

A traditional blue-tiled building that blends into the heart of Ribeira. 3,000 square meters. A basement with spectacular arches, the ground floor and six additional floors. These are the dimensions we hope to fill with Bluesock experiences.
At our hostel in Porto it is still possible to experience the spirit of the city’s typical housing buildings. We’ve kept the stone, the wooden beams on the ceilings and the original architecture and structure of the building

Bluesock Hostels Porto is located on Rua Sao Joao, 40, just a 10-minute walk from São Bento station. And, although this is a city to discover on foot, we have public transport and the main roads on our doorstep.
The price of the breakfast is 4 € per person, breakfast in private rooms is included.

I had an amazing stay!!! I like the curtains that give you privacy and the outlets in your little corner. Location was perfect, right by the river and close to everything!!!

Clean, formal, awesome. Best hostel to stay at in Porto. Maybe not the best atmosphere but not bad at all. Facilities and logistics imitate any other actual hotel. Awesome.

Very friendly and clean hostel with a pretty good location relatively close to shops and right next to the canal. All the rooms and facilities were fairly well cleaned, with a fridge and microwave available as well. The bar was also enjoyable during happy hour.

The location is amazing and the hostel is very clean. However, the bunk beds are supported by sheets of metal which buckle when a someone moves in their bed, making an extremely loud banging noise. Unfortunately, I did not get much sleep because of this.

The staff at Bluesock Hostels Porto were lovely. I would encourage the owners to invest in more soundproof windows, as there was still quite a bit of street noise, even with the windows closed. The location is perfect; right in the center of the Ribeira neighborhood and a 1-minute walk to the Rio Douro.

    Very Good

Very modern and clean hostel in a busy/central part of Porto. We stayed in an 8 bed dorm but had the room to ourselves for 2 of 3 nights. Not very social but good for pairs travelling who aren’t necessarily looking to meet people at a hostel. No kitchen and signs everywhere about not bringing in food from outside which meant not much choice but to eat at the expensive (mostly tourist trap) restaurants around the hostel. Very comfortable but not necessarily my favourite hostel experience.

Loved the location, we were literally seconds from the riviera. Hostel aesthetic was beautiful, if you’re looking for somewhere to take insta pics then this is definitely for you. However, there was almost zero atmosphere at this hostel, it seemed super quiet. There was NO KITCHEN, this made eating a pain and meant we had to eat out every night, not great for backpackers on a budget. Showers were okay but not very clean and the rooms were boiling as the windows were locked closed and no AC.

The hostel is nice and clean but there is no atmosphere, no hostel activities to meet people and the bathrooms weren’t always clean. Never knew if they had a kitchen or not and staff isn’t the friendliest. They tell you that if you want them to turn on the AC you have to go ask downstairs at reception, but even though I went numerous times (windows all closed), they didn’t turn it on not even once. The windows are impossible to open so the room had stuffy air all the time which was terrible.

Alright hostel for staying a night in the centre of Porto to be close to the river front. No atmosphere however, felt more like a hotel. It was particularly let down by the horrendous state of the bathrooms that were always swimming with water and just pretty filthy. They weren't cleaned the 2 days I stayed there. Also you couldn't open the dorm windows so they were incredibly stuffy and a bit smelly.
