Really exceptional place. Very much off the beaten path which means you avoid the pitfalls of the casual traveler. Energy is exceptional and unique: a place you stay longer than you intended to.

I brought my two kids, one special needs, to Bolita. Ronny and staff went out of their way to communicate with my deaf son and bring him close to nature. The trails are well kept and well thought out,;a safe way to get my family into the outback, for waterfalls, flora and fauna. The result was a great time in the Corcovado forest for a great price. Ronny goes all out to make you welcome and informed, the place is immaculate. eco conscious, good vibe all around. I will be back.

A fantastic hostel, the trails are amazing with 2 nice waterfalls. it is the perfect opportunity to connect with nature. Ronnie is an amazing host. You can buy some dry food up there, and the kitchen is very well equiped. This experience was unique, I definitely recommend it. But be prepared: don’t forget your flashlight, bring long sleeve cloths, bring the minimum, because the trail to get to the hostel is quite agressive (you’ll have to cross a river).

An absolutely spectacular experience deep in the jungle where you can connect with nature, be comfortable and for hardly any money at all. Saw an anteater in the campsite, as well as many other cool animals such as toucans, macaws, snakes, frogs etc. The owner, Ron, is very helpful and has interesting stories. Clean drinking water and comfortable beds. Waking up to the sunrise and the jungle waking up is a treat.

Amazingly cool little hostel nestled deep in the rain forest of the Osa peninsula. There's barely any electricity (aside from some lights and a charger station) but it's not needed at all, the sounds, smells and sights of the jungle all around you is all you need. Great kitchen facilities for the location with plenty of gas stoves, the staff is great, almost everything is perfect although I would prefer there to be lockers available, small nitpick though, highly recommend this place.

I had a great time at Bolita Hostel! It's a beautiful setting, and the owners and volunteers working there really couldn't be more helpful. The trails are great and really well maintained - when they say the walk up is a challenge they aren't joking, but in an enjoyable way, just listen when they say not to take all your stuff with you! I met some great people there - the atmosphere is made by the people so changes every few days, sometimes quiet, sometimes busy!

    Very Good

    28 Aug 2018
Our stay was nice but it is situated in a very remote place that you can only reach by taking a 45min bus (2 daily - last at 4pm) from Pt Jimenez and then walk 10 to reach the reception, then 40minutes in the forest. When we arrived on time at the reception there was nobody to explain us how to get to the hostel, nor that we could leave our bags there. We would have been lost if we couldn’t exchange with the neighbours in spanish. Do not go if your main interest interest is Corcovado.
