    Superb

All really lovely. I love the old building and the relaxed atmosphere. Everyone was so lovely here. The only thing was the front door was open all day and they didn't give anyone keys so all the room were unlockrd unless someone was inside and had locked it from the inside. Anyone could walk in but the area probably has no one who would want to steal.

    Fabulous

Very friendly staff and we’ve got an upgrade which was very cool. The kitchen was a mess although everywhere was written that you should put away your stuff. I felt really sorry for the owner which had to clean for others all the time. There was just one toilet and separate shower in the mainbuilding. For another one we had to go outside. So sometimes you have to wait for taking a shower or going to the toilet. The huge backyard was very nice too. We would recommend it.

Really good location right on the main street, staff friendly on arrival but not really around much which want a problem as the i-site was just across the street. Security not great, akoroa is a lovely town but front door and dorm door were never locked ski anybody could just walk off the street. Clean but only one bathroom for everybody,

Cute house, but in need of upgrades. No locks on doors, including front door, or lockers, but seems to be a safe town. I just took my valuables with me. Right in town, friendly staff and cute cats. Small kitchen. Only one bathroom in main house, but I was with the staff so had en-suite (6 bed dorm). Beds were comfy, and bedding was clean. Furnishings were rundown, and I’m not sure how often the bathroom is cleaned, everything just felt a little grubby. Hangout area was cosy with a fireplace

This hostel is basically just a house. Small kitchen and sitting area, no tv, a shower and a toilet, a few bedrooms. Nice garden and outdoor seating. Cold as the doors and windows are constantly open. No keys or locks or lockers, so zero security but its a small town so didnt seem to be a huge problem. Staff are next door at the cafe. Quirky and decent for a night.

When we first arrived & were ingnored by one woman at the office door, then a man came to the door where we enter and walked right by me after I said hi. He and the woman exchanged some words & then they informed us we were to pay in cash. We were shown to our rooms where the thinnest blankets awaited us in a very cold room with a broken heater. The bathrooms were very dirty & hair was left all over the drain. Shabby is one thing but it really needs to be cleaned up a bit & needs better blankets

Our stay was pretty grim. The hostel is very old and outdated - the bathroom needs to be done up ASAP. You can't do laundry, because they claim to have a heavy workload - there was literally 1 person besides us 2. The worst thing was security and sound isolation - you don't get keys for dorm rooms (what?) and the front door is not locked. The hostel is in the complete centre and I do not care that it is a quiet town. Lastly, there was a party in the cafe and we could hear everything - no sleep.

When we arrived we only found one staff member who showed us to our room but gave us no key. So the rooms have no locks and neither does the front door. Also we had a lack of hot water and there is only one toilet and shower between 4 rooms of 6 beds. The social side was good though but the kitchen could be increased in size. But the area is really nice and shops and bars close by. The beds were comfortable but slightly creaky.

I don’t even know where to start, horrible hostal, there’s no security at all, super dirty I can tell they don’t even wash the sheets after someone sleeps there, I was the only person in a 6 bed room, I lock the door in the night and the guy working there told me not to lock it, I felt completely unsafe! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
