Very welcoming with a relaxing atmosphere. We stayed here on our first night in Tokyo after flying for 14 hours so the quiet atmosphere was perfect. I was a little extra to check in 2 hours earlier, but the price was reasonable. The air conditioning was quite close to our bunk and can be a little noisy however we felt that jet lag was the aim cause of sleeping issues. The futons are really comfortable and the bunks are a lovely size and feel really safe and secure. I would highly recommend!

for sure one of my favorite hostels. I know its a little pricier then most hostels but the experience you get from it the end is well worth it. Make it a treat your self part of your trip. great music playing in the day hours. lots of lofi hip hop that I love.

Very close to Ikebukuro station(JR line), very quiet hostel, if travelling on your own and wanting to meet other this wouldn’t be the place for you. I was travelling with a friend and we were out most of the time, futon mat style bed, personally found very comfortable but if you like a soft mattress you might not like it.

Great location. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. They gave ear plugs. But if you are a light sleeper you might have trouble sleeping.

This was a beautiful hostel and I loved the hip library vibe. I didnt sleep well because the facilities were loud at night though.the metal ladders make huge noise when people move them.Second, people are quiet during the day but no one says anything when they're too chatty or their alarm goes for 10 min straight.Even the mattresses were the loud kind where you can hear people toss and turn.I'd come to read but I had the worst sleep of 5 hostels here.i hope my experience was just bad luck

it's a very cool space and it's awesome to browse through the book shelves that you are sleeping in. The bed could be a bit more comfortable, but the experience makes up for it!

After a long day of travel, we arrived at the hostel 1,5 hours before check-in time. We were told to either leave the hostel until check-in time, or pay an hourly fee to sit on the couch in the common area. It was one of the most rediculous things we ever experienced in terms of hostel policies. The hostel itself is fine: though the matrasses and stairs were noisy, noone spoke loudly at all. Aside from the cool library wall, the hostel has a bare "industrial look", lacking even a propper floor.

The ambiance of this place was amazing, but the actual logistics of sleeping there fell short of my expectations. The mattresses were super thin and you had to both make and strip your own bed (super annoying on a top bunk, especially when you're paying $40 for a hostel). The bunks/bookshelves in my area were in a super narrow hallway, so you had to move your bags to actually get into them. Also, there were hardly any books not in Japanese. Just go for an hour during the day.

Good location and amazing book feeling. The location of my bed was horrible, in front of the only door in and out of the hostel plus the heater above my bed on temp control as it was on and off all night. Because check in was as late as 12 the noise was frequent. Even with ear plugs, was still loud. The bed box was very small compared to other hostels I have been in. I hit my head several times. And the ladders had no grib therefore very slippery and difficult to get up and down.
