Property Description

We are in a traditional Thai / Chinese building with somewhat quirky architectural elements.

The second floor features a cozy lounge with plenty of sofas and tables. We provide guitars, chessboards, a book exchange, free city bikes and maps for discovering Bangkok's forgotten neighborhoods and self-catering facilities such as a refrigerator, boiler, toaster, microwave and cutlery.

Our small café is just across our first Born Free Hostel on Samsen Soi 6 (5min walk time), which offers plenty of vegetarian and vegan Thai and Mediterranean options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We use only high quality ingredients from the local markets and royal farming project.

Don't miss out on our local weekly events such as street soccer nights, night bike tours, club and night market nights.

If travel information is needed, we also run a travel agency called Born Free Travel, so guests may inquire or book transportation, tours and accommodation in Thailand directly on-site.

This hostel has 2 dormitory styled rooms.

Two standard 12 bed mixed dorms with air condition and shared bathroom. This Room has a simple bunk bed setup. Every bed has a reading light and comfortable thick blanket.

More on our location:
Just like the original Born Free Hostel, you will find that we're in a unique part of Bangkok, within the Rattanakosin island area and close to both the Chao Phraya river and the many canals flowing through this 'island'. You'll see traditional chinese / thai families living and making a living in all the streets around us:

Born Free Hostel - Vista is located one block away from the Krung Kasem canal which joins with the Maha Nak canal below the Golden Mountain. It gives those who seek a little walking adventure through authentic Thai neighborhoods a perfect insight of untouched Thai relaxed lifestyle within the local communities. You will be able to experience the real friendliness of the locals which so often is overshadowed by tourist scams and businesses giving many the wrong impression of true Thailand. Once at the Golden Mountain, you may also take a canal boat on an exciting journey through the centre of Bangkok...the possibilities to explore around here are limitless!
The standing Buddha, Rama 8 bridge and Dusit Zoo are all in walking distance...
5min walk from our location is the famous nightlife of Kao San Road and a little further is the Grand Palace and Wat Po (reclining Buddha) making this a perfect location for starting day tours in any direction...

Please note that we have TWO hostels with two different addresses. They are located 5 min from one another but please make sure to read the description of our location, given only by HOSTELWORLD and not googlemaps. :)

Stay here every time in Bangkok, best price around, close to Khao San, yet very chilled and easy to get to places.

Perfect place to stop off if your passing through Bangkok. but if you arrive early from a night bus/train or plane, they charge you 100baht to wait at the hostel until you can check in what is rubbish really because there’s nothing todo at 4/5am in Bangkok when your tired from a long journey. But I will say the owner was a lovely person and the hostel was decent

Its a fairly small place in an excellent location, close but not in the middle. Very tidy, no warm showers, staff were watching YouTubes all day long and made me feel like im bothering them with my questions

My reservation was given away. I was told I’d “need” to sleep in the lounge for the first night. On a chair. With no refund for doing so. I took my money back and left, but probably for the best. The place smelled. The bedroom was probably lowest quality hostel room I’ve seen. Soi 6 street near it is full of really cute, clean and much friendlier backpacker spots. Including their other location which I’ve stayed at previously- way nicer. Avoid Vista.
