Very cozy hostel, made me want to stay in with a cup of tea instead of going out into the cold! Very spacious, both the common area and bedrooms, so you definitely don't feel like you are on top of each other. The building is a beautiful hunting lodge, in the middle of the woods, just minutes away from Braemar's centre. I'll defintely use the hostel as a base on my next trip up to the cairngorms. The only negative was that the bunkbeds can squeak when rolling around at night.

Excellent location, easy to book online, staff were really good and informative. Braemar was an excellent location for where we wanted to walk and the location of the hostel was great, with the surroundings perfect for wildlife. The room was a private room with a sink and 2 sets of bunk beds. Clean and tidy, but the only drawback was the WiFi reception within the hostel, we could only get one bar in room two. An extender would solve the issue really easily, hence not a clear sweep of 10.

Very very nice staff! The rooms are simple, but the beds are really good. Breakfast (for £5, I think) is good. Braemar itself is a nice small town.

Had a very pleasant and comfortable over night stay. Only complaint would be from my partner who said that the female showers rapidly fluctuated between cold and scalding hot, continually during shower. We will happily return another time.

Not much to say, nice building in the forest, still quite close from the village, about 10,15 minutes walk. Clean and well maintained
