Campamento Nandu

Campamento Nandu is the hostel in Chile Chico. It’s a real travellers and backpackers place with large communal spaces, WI-FI, a fully equipped kitchen, private rooms and dorms with lockers. The hostel’s big garden is dotted with nice fruit trees and has a, Climbing Boulder, BBQ space and The Hangar Lounge, a fireplace-cafe to socialize with other travellers.

The hostel is located in the town’s main avenue at a short 6 block walking from the main square-ferry dock towards the border with Argentina, 200 meters from the east entrance to Chile Chico. The town in General Carrera Lake is the gateway to Patagonia National Park, with its attractions: Moon Valley; Cerro Colorado and Jeinimeni Lake. The Backcountry of the Park.

The hostel, consists of two buildings, one with two private rooms with ensuite bathrooms, and a second structure with 3 private rooms (2 or 4 beds), 4 dorms with 4 beds each, considering common showers and private toilets. It also has spacious roofed areas & lounge with wood stove to heat up on cold days. Campamento Nandu, could organize transport to the Patagonia Park and bikes are available. Many travelers stay longer organizing their trips to the Carretera Austral or further south on the Ruta 40, using the WI-Fi available and the information provided by the staff.
