Property Description

What better way to immerse yourself in the Dumaguete lifestyle than by living in one of the city's earlier-built houses?

Casa Arrieta is a family home that was built some 70 years ago. You might spot some ceramics and furniture that even date back to before WWII as you go around the house.

A stone's throw away from the hostel is a Japanese pillbox that was used as a defensive post during the war.

A short walk on any direction from the hostel will lead you to some of the city's popular foodie destinations. It is also less than a kilometer away from the famed Silliman University -- Asia's first American university, and one of the educational institutions in the area that has transformed Dumaguete into a university city.

Feast on a variety of flavors, both local and international, in any direction you go. Many popular restaurants are within a 10 minute walk from the hostel. If you prefer to take ride, Dumaguete's primary mode of transportation is the tricycle and these can easily be hailed from the hostel entrance.

One of the best if not THE BEST hostel I’ve ever had the chance to visit! Mey the land lady was super helpful and kind, and helped us book tours around the area. She was super nice and considerate with our demands. The hostel was exactly what we needed in our trip. The room had air conditioner and a fan, and the beds were clean and tidy. Showers weren’t so fancy and the shower stream was a bit weak but it it was okay. Laundry was available too (with a small fee). I would highly recommend this hostel if anyo

The location is unbeatable. The facilities within the hostel are quite generous considering the price. Most importantly, everything is super clean. Like am i even allowed to use the bathroom spotless. I love how the management hires hard of hearing individuals, it's such an admirable notion that should be the norm for all businesses. All of the staff are kind, approachable and very intuitive to what a guest may need. The owner is also quick to respond to requests. This is Dumaguete's hidden gem!

This hostel is clean and the staff is friendly. Located within walking distance of great restaurants. Cooking facility and laundry are available (in house or send out). I had a great 5 day stay while I visited Apo and Siquijor islands, and Twin Lakes!

10/10 for Casa Arrieta! We loved our stay here. The staff are so welcoming and there to help with anything we needed. They provide recommendations for places to eat, sites to see and you can even rent a motorbike there. Highly recommend!

Convenient locations on Hibbard Ave near Silliman campus. Plenty of tricycles to get around City. Stayed in form with good AC and strong WiFi. Nice kitchen area with microwave and fridge. Free drinking water and security 24/7. Best of all, warm hospitality by manager Mae.

Stayed here for a night but it felt like home with the convenience of a hostel. Greeted by the host who gave a quick tour of the place and escorted me to my room. She even shared her number so I can reach out directly to her should I need anything. Bed was clean (even covered by plastic to prevent dust etc). My space had hostel usuals of outlet, lamp, a small shelf to put stuff on. Its mess hall felt like a true home kitchen too as you're free to use their cups as long as you clean after.

This is a very nice place to use for a home base for activities in, and around, Dumaguete. If you are looking for a party hostel, this is not it. If you're looking for a family atmosphere with people who want to genuinely help you then this may be the ideal place.
