Really great hostel - would definitely recommend! The staff were really friendly and helpful and helped create a really friendly nice atmosphere. Cold showers only slight downside but otherwise would recommend to anyone!

We really enjoyed our stay! We ended up arriving a day earlier than our reservation and they were great about letting us camp! Pros: Staff were super friendly and awesome, as were the other guests! Great happy hour and the live Garifuna drumming Tuesday and Friday is great. Cons: Barking dogs, nearby roosters, and party atmosphere made it difficult to sleep very much..but roosters were at a neighboring property so not their fault!

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Not that far a walk from water taxis. Did it no problem with a heavy backpack and guitar in hand. Only had breakfast there, but it was good and reasonable. I echo a previous review, the beds aren't very comfortable. Didn't go in the "pool" because it looked questionable. Overall a good experience and I enjoyed Livingston. Hint, look for 68 year old Philip in town for a great tour and cultural experience! Go to waterfalls!!!

I made a reservation for just one night initially as i’m usually a bit reluctant to stay in ‘party hostals’. I do like to actually sleep! In fact this is not a party hostal. But it certainly has a great vibe! I enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, live music and dancing on the first night so much that I came back for more “buena onda”. This is largely due to the super-friendly staff team; Ereclaire, Caroline, Cristina, Wilson and Giselle (?). They really do make guests feel very welcome and have fun

If you’re looking for a cheap stay with a good location and awesome staff this is a definite go-to... it’s not the cleanest but the vibes make up for it and it’s super cheap so you take the good with the bad. Live music on Tuesdays and Fridays~ this is not a party hostel contrary to what other reviews say... if you want to relax and chill it is very possible here as well :)

    Very Good

    15 Feb 2019
It’s a cool place to chill out. Staff were friendly. Beds are ok. There’s a few tiny lockers and a couple outlets. Bathrooms are sparse and the showers aren’t great. The nightly dinner is good. It’s about 10 mins from the main street in Livingston. The ATM in Livingston doesn’t take Mastercard, so bring Quetzals with you. If you want to exchange USD at the bank, it has to be 50s or 100s.

There wasn’t a lock on the room door, and there were only two lockers available for six beds. The setting is really nice though, and there is coffee in the morning.

The garden is beautiful. However, that's pretty much it. Dorms are smelly and not clean. It's also very hot and there was only one fan for the whole dorm (an old one for that matter, all rusty and full of dust). Beds are not comfortable, make a lot of noise with each movement. Bathrooms are okay, showers are cold and the water isn't clean. The dinner at the hostel is quite expensive, especially if you're vegetarian; 50Q for rice and salad. Staff at the reception was rude. Overall disappointed.

water is a problem in livingston yes, but even when i told the staff that every toilet was blocked on arrival at 4pm they did nothing to solve this and waited until staff came the next day. Very Dirty place. Good if you are 18 and just want to feel delusional that you are having a 'local experience' : ) i checked out and went across to casa rosado for Q10 more and it was the most beautiful dorm room i have ever stayed in.
