Overview

With both rustic charm and modern style, Casa Kiwi Hostel Medellín is a relaxing place to hang out in Colombia's second-largest city. Our huge, shaded roof terrace is at tree-canopy height so you'll feel like you're in the middle of the jungle! We also have a plunge pool for cooling off under the Colombian sun, and our open-air hammock area is great for afternoon siestas. Inside we have a mini theatre with a huge TV, so you can opt for movie night when you're not up for going out.

Location

We're in one of Medellín's classiest neighbourhoods, El Poblado. Around the hostel you'll find plenty of upscale shops, restaurants and bars to discover. Our nearest metro station is Poblado, a 25-minute walk away. From here you can hop on the A train to the city centre. We're also pretty close to José María Córdova International Airport, as it takes about 40 minutes to reach us by taxi.

Rooms and Dorms

You'll get ready-made new friends when you check in to our mixed or female-only dorms. If you need a bit of space, our private double and twin rooms give you that hotel experience – some even have en-suite bathrooms (the rest of our rooms have shared facilities). All of our beds come with free linen and towels, and you'll get a locker for your stuff – just make sure to bring your own padlock.

Extras and activities

Try your first Refajo cocktail at our on-site bar, or have as much free tea and coffee as you want in our fully equipped kitchen. You're welcome to fix your own meals there, too! Or if you want a break from cooking, just pop into our on-site restaurant. Our common spaces are perfect for planning the next day's adventures with a complimentary city map and free Wi-Fi. We've also got laundry facilities so you're feeling fresh when you step out in the morning.

I absolutely loved this hostel for it's location! It's right in the middle of all of the night life in the Poblada neighborhood of Medellin. Very close walk to Parque Lleras and many other popular places. The hostel was very comfortable, and I loved the hammocks on the third level. There was a very beautiful mural painting, and it felt very "Homey."

Super cool hostel, good vibe if you're looking for a big party or a chill one. It has a nice pool table, kitchen, cinema room and rooftop patio area. Highly recommend if you're staying in the Poblado area.

Loved staying here! Kitchen had lots of cooking tools Available but the fridge is really full. I took spanish lessons at toucan Spanish and it was a great distance to walk to school each morning! The staff were friendly, helpful and took security seriously at night. I would suggest staying in a 6 person dorm -beds are much comfier than in the 11 person. It is about a 30 minute walk from the Poblado station but is close to the party. It’s so quiet here though that you can still sleep

    Fabulous

Great location! Walking distance to great restaurants and bars, but not close to the metro. Big hostel, but never got very loud. Not particularly social, but guests were friendly enough. The front staff isn't very warm, but the hostel is equipped with a book full of great activities. Highly recommend the Guatape day trip that I booked through the hostel upon arrival. Cleaning staff were very kind and they constantly clean the bathrooms and common spaces!

Great location near lleras and provenca, stayed here 10 years ago, added a terrace and a few other spaces. Pool, kitchen a few good common rooms, more rules than before but can be a good place to meet other travelers depending on who is there.

We had a great little veranda with table right outside our room. There were several pleasant common areas and a rooftop with small pool.

    Very Good

    04 Feb 2020
Casa Kiwi is in a nice location near Parque Lleras in El Poblado. It has a great hammock set up & small pool on the roof, which is a nice plus. Good kitchen & free coffee. The cleaning staff kept the hostel very clean. Not the most social hostel, so would not recommend for solo travellers. In fact, most of my complaints with my stay here we’re with other guests, who were loud & disrespectful. Left beer bottles in the bathroom & never seemed flush (for both 1&2). Lacking basic hostel etiquette.
