In the middle of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, passing through the cobbled streets of Ollantaytambo and across the flowing river, there is a colorful floral portal that welcomes you home. Inside the host Carlos a.k.a “Oxi” embraces you with Peruvian warmth and hospitality. Beautiful views, cozy warm blankets, clean bathroom with towels and shampoo. Fresh made breakfast cooked with a mother’s love of: Coffee or tea, juice, fruit, soft mountain bread and eggs “your style” Stargazing nights

Lovely place to stay for 2 nights, either side of a day in Machu Picchu. Carlos is a great host and great guy, looked after us really well, with a lovely breakfast. It was a really relaxing comfortable stay, with amazing views. Easy and very scenic walk into the town centre for food / drinks, and to the train station to access Machu Picchu. Brilliant place!!

Casa Samay is located in a great spot, just 10 minute walk from now, where you can have an amazing view of the mountains and to star gaze. It is also a 15-20 minute walk to the train station, but the walk is nice. The facilities are nice, and Carlos, the manager, is amazing. He went out of his way to help us with getting taxis or given great advice to see the area. I would stay here again if I were in the area.

My significant other and I stayed here for one night after Machu Picchu before seeing different parts of the Sacred Valley. Our private room had a beautiful view of the mountains. The roof was also pretty cool and is apparently a good place to star gaze. Carlos was an incredible host who had excellent recommendations for places to eat in town and for what to see while in the Sacred Valley. Only con was that it’s a 15 min walk from the main area of town. Affordable and quality hostel overall!

We really liked the staff at Casa Samay. Carlos was exceptionally helpful and kind. He was genuinely interested in helping us hike the ruins and the Salinas de madras in the area. He gave us lots of info on each site. Although Casa Samay is a little ways up the river, it's well worth the hike! The breakfast was tasty and the room was comfortable, clean and quiet and it had a view of the ruins by the river. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Casa Samay! Merci!

Casa Samay was an excellent place to spend a few days. It's set a bit back from the town but it's a nice walk. There's also some really nice hiking trails nearby.

We only stayed one night in Casa Samay, but we wish we could have stayed more!! The host, Francisco, was so helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the area. He gave us some extremely useful advice on a hike to Inti Punku, regarding where to go, useful shortcuts and the historical significance of the area. The hostel itself was very well-equipped and very clean, and worth the slightly longer walk from the city centre than the other hostels. We hope to return one day.

This hostel is in a gorgeous location in the mountains, and has an incredible view from the rooftop. Is is however, a but further away from town than most hostels, about a 15 min walk to the main square. The building and rooms were nice and clean but our washroom had no soap, no toilet paper at times and no functioning light. Breakfast is quick and simple and the common areas are very pleasant. Unfortunately we would not stay here again because the manager accused us of breaking a tray and wanted payment f

I was overcharged, it was far from town, nobody else was there, and I did not feel very safe. No free breakfast.
