If you’re looking for a relaxing place to stay you find the right place. It’s just in front of the sea, you can wake up and jump quickly in the water. Great staff, they help you organizing everything (I did the horse riding and was great). There is a common kitchen and in the garden you can relax on the hammocks. Lockers are outside the room. It’s not really in the center but you can reach it in 5 minutes. Great stay!

I write this while still being in this wonderful hostel, so that says something. I originally booked for three nights but ended up staying ten, i think. It is a beautiful place, right on the beach, with palm trees, hammocks, and beach chairs, next to the surf shop. Staff is very nice and helpful, my room was clean and comfy. Only the kitchen could be a bit better equiped, but i manage just fine. It is not a party hostel, but it has a chill athmosphere. Recommend it!

Sámara in general is a hidden gem..definitely one of Costa Rica’s best kept secrets! The hostel itself literally sits on the beach and you wake up everyday to fresh ocean breeze, it’s a tough life but someone has to do it. There are a few things you should know about booking here - if you plan on staying in the dorms or tents, note there is only one bathroom/shower for about 12-14 people and if you are digital nomad looking to get some work done in paradise the WiFi really does suck!

Stay here for the location, seconds from being in the ocean and right in the heart of Samara's good beachfront resteraunts. I've never stayed in a hostel with such professional staff or with such an impressive breakfast (eggs to order). The door lock didn't work on our first room (private) so we moved into what turned out to be a much nicer private room, still somewhat cave-like but the first room was very basic, the second room had a mirror, shelving, screens on the windows. Would stay again!

The hostel had a perfect location: right on the beach, easy to walk to from a public bus, close to the shops and tours around Samara. There were different quality of rooms for different tastes and prices. The room I stayed in had the light switch on the far end of the room, not right by the door, so even though there was a sign asking you to turn off light and fan when you leave the room, unfortunately, that would mean stumbling around in a dark room.

Very good position directly on the beach with chill wibes. A big problem with this hostel are old facilities and only one small shower and bathroom for both dorms and no AC in small dorms. But on the end you get what you pay for, I guess.

The staff and location are lovely, and the Thai food at the restaurant is delicious. However the hostel itself I found to be quite dirty. Our room was incredibly hot and smelled disgusting. I definitely had bed bugs in my bed. Our shower did not work and we had to shower in the outside shower one night. The last night we made friends at the hostel who allowed us to use their shower. Although I loved the staff I would not recommend this hostel due to its incredible lack of cleanliness.

The staff was very friendly and the location is nice and close to everything. The bathrooms were very dirty and small. Towels cost 1000 colones. The east wall was a very large mesh screen that was open to the atmosphere outside meaning we were smoked out by car exhaust from passing vehicles. They were also working on the sewage pipes at 10pm at night which also gave off a not so great smell and the noise of construction at night. We woke up to the hostel water turned completely off twice.

Regrettable. The location is the only good thing about this place. Staff was fine and accommodating. But the rooms are very squished (even for a hostel, which I’ve been to a few). No soap at all provided. Room was not clean and very stuffy. Killed two cockroaches in our room. Even seating in common areas were uncomfortable and dirty. No doorknob or lock at all to the room we stayed in. We booked 3 nights but left after 2. Would never come back to this hostel.

Awful!! Room without windows with a very bad smell. The staff was very disorganized: they gave us a room already occupied !!! Even if the location is good, the hostel is not to be recommended at all (that's a pity).
