This place felt homey. I had a view of the docks from my seat at breakfast. The staff was very accomodating and friendly. A tiny sink in the private room was helpful to reduce trips to the shared bathrooms. There were two sets of keys which is very helpful. The only hardship is that the common area, kitchen and rooms are on three separate floors with very steep and plentiful stairs.

I really have nothing to complain about. Great price while being close to the centre and including breakfast! Super friendly staff as well. Yes it might be an old building and nothing super modern but it is clean. Also am thankful to the staff as it was no problem at all when I arrived and told them I had to cancel my last two nights due to a change of plans.

A great hostel all round! Definitely very secure with lock on the main door to get into the building (which changed every day) and a lock on your personal door. Shower was a bit finicky, but new and clean. Overall definitely recommended! Only downside was the noise at night. One of the groups made a lot of noise on and off from 00:00 to as early as 4:00. They have a policy about being quiet after 23:00, which is wonderful, but didn’t know how to notify the staff. Staff kind/apologetic after.

The hostel was clean. There was not PC for the guest. The bathrooms were too small.

Olga at Celtic Hostels was a fantastic host. Sshe really welcomed me to the premises and gave me a great tour of the amenities. Overall the hostel needs a major facelift. There are no lighting/charging facilities/ports near ANY of the beds. This is dangerous given that there are a multitude of plugs, chargers, heaters, hairdryers etc being plugged into one main plug a in the centre of the room. If this was investigated by health and safety or any fire authorities they would close the place

The hostel is decent. It's pretty clean, the room is spacious and bed comfortable. It's just not worth the price, and everyone seems to be walking around disgruntled about that which doesn't offer a comfortable stay. Staff are nice enough but not especially welcoming like I've felt in other hostels, and the shower wasn't clean which is unpleasant in a shared-bathroom hostel. I booked because it was the last place available and that seemed to be the prevailing sentiment among my housemates.

This is an extremely basic old fashioned hostel. The building is old and damp but the staff keep it as clean as possible. To pay €90 for a box room 1.8 x 1.6M with bunk beds and breakfast of cheapest white bread and cornflakes is 50% overpriced.

Host didn’t know I was arriving, answer the door in her bare feet, with addition of extra long toe nails, had to go to atm to get money as no card service, then asked for deposit for key of €20 but was told ok as reception wouldn’t be open when I was leaving in the am, room was tiny, bed was small and uncomfortable.
