Super nice hostel, great staff, the family style dinners have been super tasty. The location makes it rare and special, as one lives deeply in the jungle. As a tradeoff, one has to face more bugs and the prices are a bit higher, which is reasonable. Absolutely recommended if you wanna get out for a while :-)

Simply amazing. Sure the trek is a little tough but it is so worth it once you arrive - I'd recommend 3 nights minimum though as the journey to and from Lanquin is exhausting. The staff are super friendly, the community dinners are delicious, the advice and tours are excellent. Above all else though is the beautiful location - a jungle paradise! Practice yoga (special thanks Rachel), go tubing or grab a hammock, sit back and relax!

Totally worth the 30 minute hike in. The staff are extremely kind and accommodating. I highly recommend doing the hour walk to Semuc Champey and tubing back to the hostel. It’s so fun! Everything about the hostel was truly unique from anything else I have experienced in Guatemala. From the homemade community dinners, to the outdoor yoga studio, to the perfect riverside location, I absolutely loved everything about it and hope to return one day! Thanks for everything!!

The vibe was great! Really fun little hostel with a family feeling. Loved the kitchen set up, and the food was great. It was a great experience over all, however we did witness the owner kicking and throwing a dog that entered the property which tarnished the experience a little bit.

The most beautiful setting (worth the 30min hike) and very helpful staff! The photos don’t do the place justice! They have a private beach on the edge of the river which is just magical! Hour hike to Semuc Champey and then you can tube directly back to the hostel down the river! Totally recommend!

Really cool place with an interesting vibe. Staff and volunteers are great and dinner every night was cheap and delicious. There is a hike to get in and out with your backpacks, which was fine for us, but if you aren't into that then go elsewhere. Things that could be improved is some bathrooms closer to the dorms, as they're a bit of a trek especially in the dark on the slippery hill. Overall a great experience

Word of caution for those considering, this hostel is not for everyone. But if you’re like me and love hiking, adventure, tranquility, and immersing yourself in nature, then Chi Bocol is amazing! It’s a bit of a hike in/out and facilities are basic, but that’s all part of the jungle experience! The staff were lovely and I particularly enjoyed the family dinners each night. Plus the community kitchen is well stocked! Tubing back to the hostel from Semuc Champey was such a cool activity also!

Beautiful place, great meals, great spirit. The trek in and out though is long at best, arduous at worst.

It’s a nice place as they are just starting but they need to sort out the path to the hostel it’s a lot of work when you have the bags and especially in the dark and the rooms need abit of work as on the last night we were about to go to bed we saw a few cockroaches and a scorpion in the room so was abit hard to sleep knowing that was there
