Chacana Hostal is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. The staff is amazing - very friendly, always helpful and makes you feel like being home! You get to know other travellers easily because at night everyone meets in the well equipped kitchen to cook. Breakfast is great (bread, butter, jam, cereals, milk, coffee, tea and fresh fruits) and it was even possible that we could have it at 6 o`'oclock on our last day because we had to leave really early.

Only stayed at this hostel a couple of nights to break up the journey from Colombia to Ecuador, but the hostel was fab! Hot showers, comfy clean beds, and for breakfast you could help yourself to cereal, toast and coffee until full! Not much atmosphere as pasto isn't a tourist hotspot. Good location - close to a small shop, shopping centre and a few nice restaurants. Would stay again!

Very good hostel located next to a large shopping mall and many restaurants. It's about 10-15 minute walk to downtown. The hot shower is really nice. I was basically the only one there but I think it's due to the time of year. The only complaint is that I booked one more night but the lady in the morning charged me 29,000 instead of 23,000 which was kind of annoying.

Great place to stay - right next to Big Dog which did really cheap and yummy chicken wings! Breakfast was good too. Not much atmosphere; perhaps it as low season, but would recommend.

Nice hostel, quite small, especially the rooms. The breakfast was basic. Some milk with cereals, fruits, bread with jam. Didn't stay too much inside so I cannot say too much about the atmosphere and other stuff. Overall a good experience

Only stayed for one night. Quite far out of town but walkable from town center. Is more of a house then commercial hostel. But staff very helpful. Had to get up at 0530 for a bus and staff member also got up just for us to get breakfast out. Very considerate.

To be fair I didn't spend much time in the hostel so I can't know anything for sure. I did find it quite chill, there was not much an atmosphere (maybe because everyone had left for Carnavales?), felt more like a family vibe so if you want to have a good night sleep this is the place to be. Beds were good, breakfast was alright, bathrooms were also nice. Maybe just keep someone in the front desk at all times in case something happens ?

Nothing nice to say about Chacana, we had a reservation done with anticipation, I was lucky to look at my email before we took the bus as I was informed by the website and not Chacana that they could they could not honor our reservation, no explanation, no advance warning, nothing. Had I not glanced at my email that same morning I would have gone to the door, not knowing our reservation was nil. To inform us on the 27th the our reservation for the 27th was nil, is a bit much
