General Group Booking Terms

By making a group reservation through you agree to the following terms and conditions as set by and as set by the hostel in question.

  • In order to make a group reservation on it is necessary to pay a deposit. The balance is due directly to the hostel according to their payment conditions.
  • The booking deposit is non-refundable.
  • Please note that any cancellations must be notified directly to the hostel at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled arrival date, unless otherwise stated in the hostel's conditions.
  • are not responsible for changes or amendments to your reservation once it has been processed. All correspondence with regard to changes to your booking need to be dealt with directly with the hostel.
  • Cancellations for reservations must be made directly with the hostel and must conform with the individual hostels cancellation policy (see below)
  • It is your responsibility to pay the balance of your accommodation cost to the hostel in accordance with their payment conditions (see below). Failure to do so may result in your reservation being cancelled by the hostel.
  • Individual hostels may have special booking conditions relating to group stays, please read the hostel booking conditions carefully before making your reservation.

Hostel Specific Terms & Conditions

The remainder of the amount due will be charged to your credit card ???? Should numbers or room selection change, the per person deposit times the number of people who actually travelled will be deducted from the total accommodation charge levvied by the hostel.

The following group types are not accepted by this hostel: Holiday with Friends, Junior / Primary School, High / Secondary School, College / University, Business Trip, Stag/Hen/Bachelor Party, Sports Group, Cultural Group If you have misrepresented the type of group you are booking for, your booking may be cancelled by the hostel."

Any cancellations resulting from agreement to these terms and conditions under false pretences will result in loss of deposit.

Property Description

Our location is perfect for you to enjoy the sunny and warm days of the Marvelous City. We are just one block from Ipanema beach, next to Posto 10 and on the border with Leblon. Lagoa Rodrigo de Freitas is a five-minute walk away. In addition to the large number of bus lines that serve this region, we are still one block from the Jardim de Alah subway. Restaurants, bars, shops, malls, banks and art gallery ... You find all this and much more here!
We have shared rooms and private suites with all the comfort that our guests deserve! All of our rooms have air conditioning and a bathroom. The private rooms also have a TV and a safe.

    Had to move to this hostel as I was involved in an attack in the Lapa area and I am so glad I did. The staff were absolutely amazing in looking after me and assisting me with arranging transport to/from hospital and assisting with my arrangements to fly home. The hostel has a great atmosphere, great location in a safe area and the breakfast is delicious! Really can’t speak highly enough of the staff here, they turned a traumatic experience into a calm and measured one, thanks guys!

    Absolutely loved my days here. One of the best hostel in SA. Perfect Location, 100 m from beach! Perfect hostel vibe, you meet new people. It has a bar too! Very good breakfast with eggs and cake! Got tour options from hostel with a very nice kitchen. Staff is awesome, always smiling & Johnny, the manager is a great guy with an awesome team! Helps you with anything you ask! Thanks to Bruna 4r taking us to Grumari beach and to the whole staff for taking care of my other issues! Keep it up! Shruti

Things to Note

Cancellation and modification policy:
If the reservation is canceled with 48h before the date of arrival, Che Lagarto Hostels / CLH Suites will not charge any amount for cancellation, but an administrative fee to cancel will be charged and is equal to 2.5% of the total already paid + a fixed amount of USD 3. These values, at the moment of the return, will be debited from the total payment already made by the customer for the reservation. Within a maximum period of 15 (fifteen) business days, the customer will receive a refund corresponding to the payment of the reservation discounted to the administrative fee and the fixed amount USD 3 as mentioned above. The refund will be made through the same payment method that was used to make the reservation. To notify a cancellation, the customer must complete the cancellation form with all the requested information. If cancellation is not made before 48 hs before arrival, the prepayment will not be considered refundable. In any reservation, whether or not a participant in a package, in case of early departure will be charged the full amount of the reservation. For partial cancellations of reservations during the stay, the cancellation rules explained in the previous points apply. In cases of force majeure, such as, but not limited to, climatic problems and weather disasters, social unrest, irreparable property problems, reserve technical problems, outsourced services, and any problem not related to company liability , Che Lagarto / CLH Suites / Grupo CLH can cancel the reservation and continue with the return of the corresponding payment. In cases where the Company is obliged to cancel the reservation, the refund of the payment will include the administrative expenses of the company that processes the payments, with which the value of the refund will be equal to the payment made by the client.

No-show is considered when the guest does not arrive on the check-in date of the reservation. In that case, the bed and/or room will remain available until 8 o'clock in the morning of the next day. After this period, the reservation will be canceled and there will be no refund of the deposit. If any of the passengers included in the reservation does not appear in the hostel on the date of arrival, the proportional part of the deposit of your reservation is not transferable to another person.

Under 18 years old:
Children under 18 must have the company of an older one.

Drink or eat inside the rooms.
Enter the hostel/hotel with alcoholic beverages.
Smoking or using drugs inside the hostel/hotel.

Payment and Exchange Rate:
Our prices are set in USD (United States dollars). The exchange rate for local currency used is not the official daily one, because of the market variation. The exchange rate used is established by Che Lagarto/CLH Suites. The exchange rate shown on the website can change. Please contact us for more information. Reais, US Dollars, Visa, and Mastercard.

Check-in from 2 pm. Check-out until 11 am. Half of the daily rate will be charged for late check-out between 11 am and 2 pm. After 2 pm a full daily rate will be charged.

Special dates:
During these special periods, payment of the reservation is required with a 100% advance: Independencia Brasil (9/6/2019-9/8/2019), Nossa Senhora Aparecida (10/11/2018-10/13/2018 and 10/11/2019-10/13/2019) , Finados (11/1/2018-11/3/2018 and 11/1/2019-11/3/2019), New Year (12/28/2018-12/31/2018 and 12/28/2019-12/31/2019), Carnaval (3/1/2019-3/5/2019), Semana Santa Tiradentes (4/18/2019-4/20/2019), Proclamaçao Republica (11/14/2019-11/16/2019), Christmas (12/23/2018-12/25/2018 and 12/23/2019-12/25/2019).

If the reservation is canceled 30 or more days before the date of check-in, only 70% of the value will be refunded. If the reservation is canceled between 29 and 15 days before the date of check-in, only 50% of the value will be refunded. If the reservation is canceled 15 days before check-in, or less, there will be no refund of the value of the reservation. These values, at the time of the return, will be debited from the total payment that the client made. In the maximum term of 15 (fifteen) business days, the client will receive the corresponding refund for the return of the payment of the reservation. The refund is made through the same payment method that would have been used to make the reservation.
