At CheapSleep Helsinki, we're all about bargain beds and free buffet breakfasts – there's more important stuff to buy, like beer! Make yourself at home on the sofas in our fun, relaxed and social lounge and use our free Wi-Fi, or get down with more nostalgic tech on the vintage arcade machines in our games room. On Friday and Saturday nights you're invited to our common room party to get to know each other over drinks and games (and free French Fries), then join us on a bar crawl to see the city by night.

From Helsinki Airport, take bus 617 for 29 minutes to Hattulavägen, and we're 3 minutes away. The city's train station, Rautatieasema Jarnvags, is about 20 minutes from us on buses 64, 65 or 611. For some of the cheapest restaurants and bars in the city, as well as the best nights out (and even public saunas), head to the effortlessly cool Kallio district – just a 16-minute walk away. From Hattulavägen, take tram 7 for 16 minutes to Hallituskatu to see Kauppatori, the main square, where you'll find Helsinki's famous international market.

Rooms and Dorms

Our hostel has mixed and female-only dorms with air con and bunks with an individual power socket and reading light. You'll also have a locker (big enough for your backpack) that's controlled by your room key. For more personal space, try our private twin, double, triple and family rooms – some have en-suites. Fresh sheets are included, and you can hire towels (and slippers!).

Extras and activities

Feeling hungry? Cook your favourite meal in our kitchen – stop by the grocery store that downstairs first. Or, if you don't want to do the washing up, you can head to our on-site café. Whatever time you arrive (or leave) there'll be someone on our 24-hour reception to help you out. There's also an elevator (a bonus as we have a few floors!) and free luggage storage.

Hi. Staff at CheapSleep was really helpful. I was worried about my bicycle that it might get stolen but staff helped me in keeping my bicycle in their office. Staff is available 24/7 which is really great. The only disadvantage of this hostel is that it is bit far away from city center but again it is well connected by public transport. I highly recommend this hostel.

It´s indeed the cheapest place where to sleep in Helsinki. The atmosphere is relaxed and young (at least on the second floor). They do recycling and have a free food shelf to avoid food waste, thumps up! --THE GOOD-- RECYCLING AND FOOD SAVING The really good thing is that they recycle properly and there are even free food shelves, even though then need to be better labeled. FRIENDLY STAFF The people working there are friendly enough. THE PRICES The lowest of Helsinki --THE BAD-- SMELLY

Hostel is very big and not very well suited to make friends or hang out there. But overall very clean and well maintained and close to a tram stop which made it easy to get around.

+- Location wasn’t that close to city center but wasn’t that far too + Stuff was nice n had a lot of common areas, cause of covid was one person placed per bunk bed - A drunk guy followed me to female toilets around midnight n he peed in there with open door n nobody seemed to notice or doing something after I complained, when reception is actually facing toilets doors. I consider that as sexual harassment n I wanted the police to be called. This guy next time maybe he won’t only follow a girl

Hostel is easily reachable with public transport but no tin the best are of town. The hostel is split up on two different floors. Facilities where modern and functional but there was a lack of cleanliness which is worrying in the midst of a pandemic

There was no breakfast, although it’s listed on the site and no one from the staff told me. I had to specifically ask for it and any other information about the hostel. The towels cost 5€, which I find quite expensive for a hostel and the location is more than 4 km from the city walking it takes about 30 min to the central train station, which is at the city center. The staff was friendly enough but not very caring and the dorm rooms were clean but dark.

Location is a long way from the centre but the price is still pretty high. I can understand it since this hostel is run like a big business and it is fully focused on that part not so much on the people hanging out and meeting other people part which I dont like and that is the feeling I got by spending a couple of days there. It is too big, rooms are like in a dorm, showers also like in a dorm. One of the worst hostels I’ve been to and for that price it can’t be a good rating

No atmosphere, staff gave poor advice and misinformation about local area, staff also gave incorrect check out time and then chasing us out at an earlier time than previously advised. Bar was shut at hostel which is partly why we stayed there. Beds not very comfy. All in all very poor, only nice thing I can say is that it was clean.
