Does what it says on the tin, chilax house is very chilaxed. At one point we came back at night and the owner rushed out and asked if we wanted to see a rhino, he then shone his touch in the field next to the hostel and we couldn’t see it. We then returned to our room and on our way we bumped into the rhino, it was about 3m away from us which we really cool. Would stay again, but not the best atmosphere.

The staff were super friendly and the location is good. They organised a great safari for me and a couple of other people staying. However the food they provided me with gave me serious food poisoning, the mosquito nets had holes in, and the rooms were not very clean. If I hadn’t been so ill I think I wouldn’t have minded this so much, but it isn’t very pleasant. Very cheap though!

We had a nice time overall because of the people we met there. But the hostel itself was a mixed bag. Pick up from bus stop included which was great, but the rooms had mice that chewed through our bags and I got seriously badly bitten by bedbugs from the blanket. Pretty garden area, basic facilities but v close to the river front area bars.

The location of the Hostel is really good and sometimes there come rynos in the garden! The hostel has only eyes for money ... tell you the bus to Kathmandu is 700 but its only 350 and offer with pickup service on bus station .. but we don’t get it. The rooms are ok ... with Moskito Protection. Only cold shower and really dirty toilet rooms.
