Cielo Rojo was the perfect hostel for our trip. It's location was super close to downtown Oaxaca, the hostel was filled with friendly people and staff, but was not super loud in the evenings. There was breakfast every morning which was unexpected and meant we spent a lot less on food!

Very nice place, close to all amenities and easy to reach. The staff is super friendly and the atmosphere warmly familiar. Common areas and rooms are very clean, and you will always have someone to have a beer with chit-chatting about your travel experience. Highly recommended!!

Only stayed 1 night. Early check in which was super nice. Shared bathroom but not a problem. Breakfast was very simple: toast with butter and jam, yogurt, cornflakes, tea and coffee. Located close to center.

This place had a good vibe and lots of couches to hang out on and meet other travelers. The place is secure, the location is convenient, there are lockers. The bathrooms aren’t in great shape but they’re functional. There’s free breakfast as well. The owner is super nice and will give you information about the area, plus she has a cute dog.

You get what you pay for. The dorms are okay, squeaky beds but nice bathrooms. The breakfast is very basic with cereals and bread, and maybe som fruit if you're lucky. Breakfast starts at 8.30 and they were very inflexible. My friend had an unpleasant experience when asking for early breakfast with staff being disrespectful. Little common area, definitely weird wibes. Good location and the staff was nice when we asked for help with bustickets.

We stayed two nights in the female dorm. Upper bunk is shaky, but ok it’s a cheap hostel with perfect location. First night was ok and we had breakfast the morning after - simple but good for the price. Second night staff were partying loudly in common areas and the next morning they didn’t wake up. Super weird situation, all the guests were up and ready for breakfast but no staff were to be found!!! At the same time the water stopped ALL over the hostel and we couldn’t ask the staff for help.

This hostel is pretty bang average, I suppose for it's cheap cost it's exactly what you expect. Annoyingly there was never any toilet paper, and in regards the bathrooms there was only one per dorm and no communal ones. The staff were kind of ambivalent, and while I did make friends there, largely there wasn't much atmosphere. Also if you want to stay in the hostel past 11am it's an extra 20pesos. This isn't a big deal but I just think it's a bad policy.

Had a bad start to this place, with the staff barely saying hello. They offered no help with any of my stay in Oaxaca. There was absolutely no atmosphere.
