Here at Cityhostel Berlin, we're a short stroll from Checkpoint Charlie, the Gendarmenmarkt and – most importantly – the Currywurst Museum. We've got great transport links too – but if you're not in the mood to venture out, our on-site bar is open all night – from 8pm until 4am! You can get to know your fellow guests over a few brews and a game of foosball, or head outside to our beer garden to make the most of the long summer nights.

We're right in the heart of Mitte, Berlin's city centre, and just a little wander from the best museums and attractions. We're also a short train ride from hipster hangout, Kreuzberg. You can hop on the U2 or U6 trains from our nearest U-Bahn station, Stadtmitte. It takes roughly an hour to get to us from Schönefeld Airport using the S-Bahn train, or 35 minutes from Tegel using the airport express bus.

Rooms and Dorms

Book a private single or double room for privacy and an en-suite. You'll also find a TV and kettle (like you get in a hotel!). Our shared rooms are mixed, and some have en-suites while others have bathrooms on the same floor, so you never have far to go. We'll give you a free towel and set of bed linen on the house – two less things to pack! Use our elevator to get them to your room.

Extras and activities

Berlin's non-stop party scene is legendary, and with our 24-hour reception you can wander in at any time of night (or morning). The rooms are all secured, with key cards for extra safety, and have lockable cupboards to keep your valuables safe and sound. Bike hire is available at reception, and Berlin's huge network of cycle paths make for a fun way of getting around. With free Wi-Fi throughout the hostel, you can easily look up some awesome routes – Grunewald forest, Treptower Park and Wannsee are all great day trips for nature lovers.

Not sure why some people give this a lesson than favorable review. We stayed in a 4 room private en suite. Room, bathroom and lines were very clean. Beds were comfortable and staff was beyond great. Can't beat the location either. Bar on site with cheap drinks also a plus.

I stayed in three different hostels in Berlin during my trip and this one one the best which also happened to be the lowest price. It did not have a kitchen though which wasn't a big deal for me anyway.

My only complaint is that there were not enough outlets, in a room of 4 people there were only 2 outlets.

My friend and I spent one night at the CityHostel. For only 12 euro a night, it isn't too bad. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They even let us store our luggage for free before our check in time, and the next day after we had checked out. However, the bathrooms were not overly clean, and not all of the lockers locked. One night here is fine, but if I were to stay longer in Berlin I would probably pay extra for another sleeping situation.

Nice and cheap hostel in a great location in the city. Unfortunately I didn’t have chance to experience the breakfast as, despite being advertised from 7am, it was still being set up at 8am and I had a train to catch. Hostel is basic, clean enough, etc.

    Very Good

    28 May 2019
Cityhostel Berlin is ideal for backpackers and transient visitors, who do not mind having only the bare necessities in the room. Did not find the beds and pillows comfortable, while the bathroom has a foul odor. Location is the best thing about the place - just a block away from the subway and bus stop. There’s a supermarket and mall nearby, as well.

Checked into the hostel and the faculty gave very little information about the hostel in general or facilities. The room has trash everywhere used towels and the floors were a bit dirty. The bathroom in the room was clean for the most part, however the shower was broken and you had to hold the shower head the entire time. The WiFi was unusable for the most part as well. It was in a good location close to the grocery store and a lot of restaurants which helped.

Very dirty, broken toilet, shower flooded, no air con, nowhere to eat own breakfast.

The communal bathroom was unclean all the time with the shower curtains not covering the area so had no privacy plus there was no where to put belongings when in shower. Pillows were extremely lumpy and new bedding was often dirty. For a room of 8 there were only two plugs which was ridiculous. The lockers were too small to store much, even a medium sized backpack would not fit. Originally only given one key between two people which was bad since we needed it to get back in after using the loo.
