Property Description

Welcome to Clink261!

Clink261 is a comfortable, centrally located hostel just 5 minutes’ walk from King's Cross Tube and St. Pancras International Station; London's main transport hub. The hostel offers free Wi-Fi throughout the building.

Clink261 opened its doors 20 years ago. It's come a long way since then, but it's still got that laid-back feel that backpackers love. Staying at Clink261 feels a bit like coming home. With a self-catering kitchen, friendly staff, and comfortable sofas, it's a welcoming place to return to after a day of city exploration. The old Student Union building has been brought to life with unique British-themed interiors.

Clink261 has shared dormitory style accommodation along with girls' only dorms and private rooms. All bunk beds have individual reading lights, a USB/electric port to charge up your devices and a locker (sizes vary from room to room, bring your own padlock). Towels are included in private rooms and available to others for a small fee.

Guests can chill out in the lounge area or cook something tasty in the well-equipped self-catering kitchen. They are also welcome to head to ClashBAR at nearby Clink78 (just 320m away) where there are DJ nights, live music, pool/table football, and great drinks deals.

Reception is open 24/7 and offers discounted tickets on tours and attractions. The friendly team will be happy to help with any questions.
Please note Clink261 is a cashless hostel. All guests must present a debit/credit card on check-in with the name of the person staying at Clink261.

King's Cross is a bustling and creative area of London. Famous gig venue 'Water Rats' is nearby, an open-air swimming pool is just the other side of King's Cross station (only for the brave!). 'Kerb' Street Food Market is held regularly in Granary Square. The British Museum and Camden Market are a 25-30 minutes’ walk away and all of London's big sights are easily reached on public transport. At just five minutes’ walk from King's Cross Underground, Clink261's location is hard to beat.

Amazing location, staff kicks out people who make trouble. The beds hurt your back and it's not the best atmosphere for making friends.

Our room was well decorated and had great lockers but it was slightly cramped, could’ve done with a bunk removing. Also, the rooms were so unbelievably hot and stuffy. We would be in the room for minutes and be sweating. No fans or aircon either. Our only option was to open the windows which made it worse as the roads were so unbearably loud! There were loud deliveries to nearby businesses and motorbikes racing at all hours. The noise wouldn’t have been so bad if the windows were closed.

Overall good stay for just one night. Quiet dorm shared with other girls. not much of an atmosphere, to meet new people. Showers need more shelving/hooks. Clean bed, warm but not sweltering

Since accommodation is so expansive in London, Clink comes as a good value for travellers wanting a cheap yet acceptable stay. The beds were pretty comfortable, although the facility lacks some design on the inside. Basically, you give up on the little things in order to make your stay cheaper : soap in the rooms sinks, soap in the showers, modern facilities or design, no industrial grade A/C but a simple fan when it comes to the rooms. Staff was super friendly tho. So it's up to what you want!

Great location, super close to King's Cross. I was in the 16-bed dorm however and it was pretty rough. People were leaving dirty socks hanging all over other beds and the entire room smelled pretty horrible - enough that I went and bought an air freshener spray to keep the smell at bay. My first bed had a night light that wouldn't turn off, which couldn't get sorted until the morning. Bathroom & showers are small & tight - I would recommend that they put more hooks up in each stall.

Stayed here many times in the past when it was a relaxed, fun and easy going hostel. The non alcohol policy is extreme for the type of accomodation, as is the stasi style behaviours of some of the staff. Try the generator hostel up the road for enjoyment

Not the best hostel. Rooms were tiny even by hostel standards, the bunk beds are all next to each other - no space to even walk beside the bed? You could pretty much touch toes with the person sleeping in the bunk next to you. Missed my first night due to the train strikes and still had to pay it which frustrating as it was due to circumstances outside of my control and I had emailed/called ahead. Location is good I will say, very convenient like a 5min walk to kings cross
