Overview

Clink78 is a brilliant base for discovering London's hidden gems. Our building is a former courthouse in the heart of King's Cross. Fun fact: Charles Dickens worked in the building and The Clash stood trial here! Hang out with fellow travellers in our TV lounge in one of the original courtrooms, or get involved in a game of table football. We host regular DJ evenings and live music in our basement bar, so you can dance until the early hours and fall straight into bed.

Location

King's Cross underground is less than 10 minutes' walk from us, so getting around the city is easy. Camden Town, famous for its markets, buzzing nightlife and iconic live music venue the Roundhouse, is one stop away. Pop to nearby Regent’s Park to visit London Zoo, and don’t miss Big Ben and Buckingham Palace – they’re just 25 minutes away. Our free daily walking tours and free city maps will help you fit it all in. From London's main airports, you can get the underground or the train all the way to King's Cross in around an hour.

Rooms and Dorms

We've got mixed and single-sex dorms, as well as private rooms – some of which have en-suite bathrooms. Feeling adventurous? Choose one of our private rooms based in an actual former prison cell! Bed linen is included so you don't need to pack a sleeping bag. For your peace of mind, all our rooms have key card access and security lockers (just remember to bring your padlock).

Extras and activities

With our self-catering kitchen and a budget-friendly buffet breakfast every morning, mealtimes are covered. Fancy a chilled afternoon? Head to our bar and play a game of pool. There's free Wi-Fi too for those Insta stories. If you're going out late to one of London's bars or clubs we're open 24 hours, so no need to rush back. More of an early bird? Check out our TravelSHOP at reception where you can buy discounted tickets for top London attractions.

The best hostel I've ever stayed in. Only downside was the room was warm, but it's summer and a room with ten people, what can you do? A fan was provided. The other thing is the key cards can get demagnetized if they are held near your phone, but after I was informed of this all was well. The place is clean and in a great location. Good wifi, good front desk staff, good breakfast. Also the building has its own history!

Showers on 2nd floor (women’s bathroom) had yellow/greenish scum. Toilets were cramped. Mattress was thin. The laundry was cheap and the laundry soap was free. Dryer is £1😁 Friendly and helpful staff 👍

Urine in varying degrees of staleness played the role of welcoming committee to the toilets. I was most disappointed to recognize that an all women’s room is more expensive. There was a brief and minor but never the less incident where I found myself to be the only woman in a 10 person dorm and I couldn’t help focusing my frustration at this egregiously acceptable practice.

Quite disappointed with this hostel. Beds are very uncomfortable with pillows way too thin. Showers would turn off every 20 seconds and would smell like urine often. Came back from breakfast and my friends bed had been stolen by someone else and they had moved her belongings over onto another bed. Staff were nice enough.

I was incredibly uncomfortable during my stay, nearly injured myself on the weirdly designed bunk ladder, and slept so badly. The bathroom was a bit gross. It took a very long time to check me in after someone cut in front of me in line and wasn't stopped at all by the staff.
