Overview

Clink78 is a brilliant base for discovering London's hidden gems. Our building is a former courthouse in the heart of King's Cross. Fun fact: Charles Dickens worked in the building and The Clash stood trial here! Hang out with fellow travellers in our TV lounge in one of the original courtrooms, or get involved in a game of table football. We host regular DJ evenings and live music in our basement bar, so you can dance until the early hours and fall straight into bed.

Location

King's Cross underground is less than 10 minutes' walk from us, so getting around the city is easy. Camden Town, famous for its markets, buzzing nightlife and iconic live music venue the Roundhouse, is one stop away. Pop to nearby Regent’s Park to visit London Zoo, and don’t miss Big Ben and Buckingham Palace – they’re just 25 minutes away. Our free daily walking tours and free city maps will help you fit it all in. From London's main airports, you can get the underground or the train all the way to King's Cross in around an hour.

Rooms and Dorms

We've got mixed and single-sex dorms, as well as private rooms – some of which have en-suite bathrooms. Feeling adventurous? Choose one of our private rooms based in an actual former prison cell! Bed linen is included so you don't need to pack a sleeping bag. For your peace of mind, all our rooms have key card access and security lockers (just remember to bring your padlock).

Extras and activities

With our self-catering kitchen and a budget-friendly buffet breakfast every morning, mealtimes are covered. Fancy a chilled afternoon? Head to our bar and play a game of pool. There's free Wi-Fi too for those Insta stories. If you're going out late to one of London's bars or clubs we're open 24 hours, so no need to rush back. More of an early bird? Check out our TravelSHOP at reception where you can buy discounted tickets for top London attractions.

I was in a girls’ dorm for a couple of nights. The room was small but the beds were a good design, tall enough to sit in with a light and charger so I felt I had my own space. Showers were hot. Breakfast cost a few pounds and was very substantial. Friendly staff. Overall, exactly what I expect from a hostel.

First time in a hostel alone and it was great! My 6-bed mixed dorm was small but it worked for the time I was there. Felt safe the whole time, helpful staff, and I appreciated the luggage storage and locker options available. I was only there for a night but they have a fun bar and dining hall. Would go back

There was a rotting scent in my room, which seemed to be cleaned up by the third night. Aside from that, everything else was great!

    Very Good

    11 Jul 2019
The self-serve kitchen was unavailable from 6:00am to 12:30–so that the staff could prepare, serve, and clean up from breakfast. Not even having access to my food in the refrigerator ruined my plans for breakfast. Also, the all female dorms are not accessible by lift. Dragging my heavy suitcase up all of those steps was very difficult. The room housed 8 women, had one small fan, and was unbearably hot. The area all around the bed needs to be vacuumed as it hasn’t been vacuumed recently.

    Very Good

Cute bar area, good for solo female traveler, met new friends easily. And enough bathrooms and showers for everyone. The problem is the constant slamming doors all through the day and night. I paid $100/night for private room so I could sleep off jetlag, but the room was a tiiiiiny prison cell, and I’ve never heard doors slam so loud. narrow hallways, and doors can’t be gently closed. Whole body could not relax in anticipation of the next slam. Like Chinese water torture. Would not stay again.

Rooms and toilets weren’t clean. I went to my room after lunch and saw the cleaning lady going through one of the luggages. When you check in they don’t tell you they have a common room etc, you have to find it on your own and it is in another area of the building so I saw everything when I went to the toilet when I was checking out. The kitchen is quite inconvenient, when they serve breakfast you cannot access the area of the fridges and get your stuff.

I quite shocked when I entered the dormitory. Definitely the worst room I had in 10 months of traveling around the world. It was extremely small and dark and they didn’t even bother to make the sheets. It seems that they’re so eager to earn money, that they turned the closet into a 6 bed room. Would never come back to this place.
