Hostelworld says

Copenhagen Downtown Hostel was rated the Most Popular Hostel in Copenhagen in 2015, and it's easy to see why. They're centrally located, just between Christiansborg Palace and the Tivoli gardens, within walking distance of Kastellet, the Little Mermaid and Freetown Christiania. Many Hostelworld guests have said 'it's probably the best value for price you will without leaving the central area'. We like that this clean hostel loans out hair dryers, laptops and iPads. The onsite bar and cafe has games and a daily happy hour.

Great hostel with a nice social atmosphere. I met a few Danes who come here for the "best happy hour in town" (their words) from 8-9pm. This is definitely a party hostel so come prepared to make some friends. And use earplugs if you want to sleep. The kitchen does not have a lot of options, just some basic pizza. There is no kitchen for your use, however, there are a lot of good food options all around the hostel. Would stay again!

The hostel was very clean und staff was also very nice and helpful. There were a lot of free games to play. The athmosphere was very unique und it was very easy to get in touch with new people especially during the happy hour ;). The happy hour is also a chance to get affordable drinks in Kopenhagen. All in all I can really recomment to visit this hostel! For my next stay in Kopenhagen I know where the place to be is.

Amazing bar/ communal area downstairs which was a massive bonus and helped me meet other travelers. Main issue was lack of facilities, I was on the top floor and there was always a que for the 1 sink which made getting ready for check out or the day stressful.

Friendly staff, great atmosphere, great location and good dorms with sockets by the bed. But it was a lot of noise in the morning, no one in that hostel could sleep past 8, which is ironic when the bar close at 5. They emptied glass containers in the back alley 8 each morning waking everyone up, house keeping also kicked down our door about five times before 1030 even though 5/6 people were still trying to sleep. Also had the slowest bartender Ive seen. Everything else was splendid.

This hostel is pretty close to most attractions in the downtown Copenhagen area. We walked or biked everywhere with no problem. The bar atmosphere lobby is really cool and honestly cozy, too. It’s a full scale bar down there open until 5 AM so it was a little loud at times. The only huge issue that I had was that there are no sinks in the bathroom and you have to come back to the room to wash your hands, brush your teeth, etc. (waking people up in the process) Overall really great!

CPH downtown is in a very good location and probably the cheapest option if you want to stay in the area. The hostel is clean, has a great bar that's nice to meet fellow travelers. The only thing that could have been a great addition could be a kitchen given Copenhagen food prices but overall a great place. I'd love to stay here if I'm in Copenhagen again!

Busy and big Hostel. There is a good bar downstairs whereby it is always pretty busy, especially at night. The live music is really good but they only do it twice a week! I think extend this out and do it a few more nights and make it go longer into the night. Rooms are fine, could be a bit cleaner, but the beds are great. Only downside, really is the prices at the bar - a bit expensive and also the showers, your clothes get wet due to no shower curtains.

Copenhagen Downtown Hostel says

I think what puts us ahead of the rest is that we're the real backpackers' in town, made by travellers for travellers. We want you to experience the real Denmark, its people, its humor and its personality. I believe that this place is the expression of a hostel how should be all around the world - full of magic, activities, livable common areas and crazy people that give this place an enjoyable and fun atmosphere.
The common area features a Scandinavian retro design with recycled wooden floors from old Copenhagen apartments used for the tables and benches, plus a lot of bright colors, wall maps, and other design features to make the area warm and welcoming.
There's lots to do in this area but I definitely recommend visitng Christiania - the Freetown - a unique place occupied/squatted in 1971 and now a community, where people live and chill out. Furthermore, the place has grown with bars, cafés, restaurants, concert places, art and has its own very peculiar atmosphere.
If noticed in advance, we can provide all kinds of food/drinks for special needs, such as gluten-free bread. Lactose free milk (soya drink) is always in stock. Kim, Manager
