Note: This hostel is in a rural location, some previous reviewers might not have realised that when they booked. There is a small shop a 5 mins walk from the hostel for snacks and basic essentials, everything else a car ride. I received a very warm welcome from the staff and volunteers at Corcovado Foundation, everyone was really friendly and helpful, and I loved my stay there. The facilities are basic but well maintained and very clean. The dinners are simple but delicious and filling!

Great hostel, friendly staff, in the middle of the jungle. The only thing negative: wish the kitchen was better equipped. Other than that, great place.

The backpacker hostel was wonderful. The staff was amazing and made you feel right at home. Jonathan provided the best hospitality I have ever received and Catalina helped us with obtaining tour information and rides, and cooked amazing meals. If you are looking for a chill place away from everything that has a homey vibe, this is it! Also all the profits go to the Corcovado foundation which is pretty cool.

Right near the forests in El Progresso this backpacker hostel has tours available for the day and the night, and tips on free hikes to enjoy in the area. Hostel is kept clean at all times, no shoes policy in place which makes it easier, beds have mosquito nets and there is a bar and restaurant. Staff are relaxed and friendly!

Definitely recommended. It is a bit far from the "main city" (Restaurant, Supermarket) but they offer a free shuttle when you arrive and departs and you can rent bikes for free. The stuff is super friendly and made us feel very welcome. The buffet they offer for 12$ is a bit overcharged: it's very little amount and after the first plate everything was already almost finished. But they were very flexible and charged us less because we were vegetarians. + all the money goes to the Corcov. found.

You have to take a 40 minute minibus down a bumpy dirt track to get anywhere. The double bed in the private room had a 2 inch mattress on wooden slats. There was a rooster that crowed from 5am-9am and no glass on the windows to muffle the noise. A few cockroaches. I would’ve payed more to have a nicer experience. The staff were really nice and the common area was nice to hang out in.
