This place is a gem! Awesome, friendly staff. Excellent room with a small shared bathroom. Bed set up is really nice with your own charging station and there is a parking lot for those with rental car. Preferred Dalur to other hostels ive stayed at before. Will definitely stay again when i visit Reykjavik in the future!

A great hostel with a helpful staff and comfy beds. Also has well placed bedside charging ports. They also setup tours for you. The only downside is the location which is about 30 min walk out of town but there are buses for 500 krona

Perfectly decent stay! Wonderful breakfast for a really great price and a free car park which was great for our hire car. We loved that our private room was super simple but still comfy and with a large bathroom. Good value for money and would definitely recommend.

A great option for single travelers and a highlight of the hostel experience! The atmosphere is very open and welcoming and the staff worked hard to help out. I had to let them know that there were no linens in the room when I checked in, and the staff at the reception stepped in to check on the situation and got it sorted out. The dorm style is very efficient and there's a good amount of space for your belongings. Some walls were scuffed which made it look 'dirty', but the rooms were clean.

Great location for bus connections and do-able walking distance to city centre. The kitchens were a let down with lack of space and VERY untidy. A lack of cleaning equipment and replacement rubbish bags made it difficult for guests to keep it in order.

The staff is nice, the price is cheap, it feels good to be in the cafe in the morning with the other travellers. The beds are comfortable. But the sanitary facilities are a bit dirty and frequently run out of paper towels and toilet paper. It’s definitely a good choice if you go for a cheap accommodation anyhow

If you are looking for somewhere with social atmosphere this is NOT it. Never saw any staff until 3 days into my stay so if you had issues you solve them yourself. Reason I picked here was for the kitchen (it is expensive to eat out in Iceland), but kitchen was very dirty because of other guests and food was stolen despite being labelled. Construction work going on outside was loud. Tour companies had issues dropping off to this location.
