Lee Cleghorn is one of the most fabulous hosts we have ever met!! Very caring.. All the three of us were under the Scottish weather and he was extremely caring in giving us simple flu medications and the warmth of the hostel which was something unbelievable for us for the price we were charged.. Very spacious and very comfortable with heaters in every room.. The dining place, the lounge and the kitchen, oh, we just wished we could stay there forever!! Fabulous place to stay!!

Great hostel- one of the best I’ve stayed in! Lovely roaring fire which was nice over the cold weekend.I’d imagine the gardens will be beautiful in the warmer months to relax in. Well equipped kitchen and nice social areas. Lee was friendly and helpful. He has created a great place to stay- I’ll be back to stay again :)

Five of us stayed two nights. Lee's hostel and hospitality amply met our wishes for ease, comfort and conviviality. By day, excellent walks along the edge of Loch Ericht, and to the summit of Meall Chuaich. One evening spent in chat around an outside fire; the next evening in the hot tub, and a delicious supper at The Lodge. In the spring we'll go back, for sure.

Have already recommended to my friend's they stay here if they are in the area. Wonderful location and Lee could not be a more helpful host, even giving us a lift to the start point of our hike to cut down our walking time. Would definitely stay here again!

Great hostel at a beautiful location. The hostel is situated close to the train station so provides an excellent base to explore the area. It's run by Lee, an experienced traveler himself that understands travelers needs and who is great company to have a chat with.

I really enjoyed staying at the old school hostel. The facilities were better than expected and much better than other hostels I’ve stayed in. Every area was spotless. The kitchen was large and well equipped for making breakfast and dinner. The room was cozy, clean and had a large tv with sky channels on it. The log burning fire in the lounge area was great to come into after a day on the hills. Lots of Munro’s near by. Will definitely come back again to bag a few Munro’s.
