General Group Booking Terms

By making a group reservation through Hostelworld.com you agree to the following terms and conditions as set by Hostelworld.com and as set by the hostel in question.

  • In order to make a group reservation on Hostelworld.com it is necessary to pay a deposit. The balance is due directly to the hostel according to their payment conditions.
  • The booking deposit is non-refundable.
  • Please note that any cancellations must be notified directly to the hostel at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled arrival date, unless otherwise stated in the hostel's conditions.
  • Hostelworld.com are not responsible for changes or amendments to your reservation once it has been processed. All correspondence with regard to changes to your booking need to be dealt with directly with the hostel.
  • Cancellations for reservations must be made directly with the hostel and must conform with the individual hostels cancellation policy (see below)
  • It is your responsibility to pay the balance of your accommodation cost to the hostel in accordance with their payment conditions (see below). Failure to do so may result in your reservation being cancelled by the hostel.
  • Individual hostels may have special booking conditions relating to group stays, please read the hostel booking conditions carefully before making your reservation.

Hostel Specific Terms & Conditions

The remainder of the amount due will be charged to your credit card on arrival. Should numbers or room selection change, the per person deposit times the number of people who actually travelled will be deducted from the total accommodation charge levvied by the hostel.

Additional Terms and Conditions

We require a 10% non-refundable advance payment on Group bookings of 5+ guests

Any cancellations resulting from agreement to these terms and conditions under false pretences will result in loss of deposit.

Property Description

The Damhotel is a typical Dutch-style hotel/hostel which is located right in the heart of Amsterdam, just 3 minutes walk from the Amsterdam Central Station.

The hotel/hostel offers rooms for 1 to 10 persons with attractive prices. Our multi-lingual personals are looking forward to serving you and provide all the necessary information about our lovely city. Please note that the reception is located on the first floor of Damrak Street No. 32.

Reception desk staff will be happy to assist you in arranging various excursions including Amsterdam Canal boat tours, exciting trips to the typical Dutch village Volendam, excursions to Madurodam (the Miniature City) and much more.

We are looking forward to having you in our hotel/hostel and will make your stay as pleasant as possible.

Special conditions are prior to the main cancellation / modification conditions when applied.

Main conditions and policy (Individual booking)

Less than 3 days before date of arrival (start 0:00) for cancellation or modification: first night
Less than 3 days before date of arrival (start 0:00) for cancellation or modification for reservation with arrival on Friday: first 3 nights*
Less than 3 days before date of arrival (start 0:00) for cancellation or modification for reservation with arrival on Saturday: first 2 nights*

(*) because of minimum nights stay restriction

Between 21 and 8 Days before arrival: 50 %
More than 3 weeks before arrival: no charge

(*) groups = Every booking of 3 or more rooms

    Really great place to stay Staff were fantastic Lift / elevator was broken so had to lug my suitcase up the stairs but otherwise great stay. The only other thing I would recommend to the owners is change the dirty old black carpet in the stairs and hallway - it really didn't do justice to your great hostel :)

    Perfect location, small room but in Amsterdam every space is small, clean sheets, very clean bathroom, there were a few bugs and in the morning, unfortunately, I was bitten very heavily by the bugs :) but it's a very economical place to rent and I don't think everyone's experiencing my problem.

    Great location. Staff were very helpful and settled my friend and I into our room promptly. We stayed in a 10 bed dorm for one night. Only drawback was there being only one en suite to share between ten of us.

    Good hostel great location, though held my the preauthorized money for way too long (ended up being at least 5 days after checkout) on a short trip this was frustrating

    Not the most stylish or modern place to stay, but totally adequate. Breakfast is above average. No wifi service except in the ground floor common areas. There were 66 steps to my room on the highest floor. It is close to some key transit stops, so getting around is pretty easy. No lift and no air conditioning. Next time I'm in Brussels, I'll try to find a better place to stay, but if I can't I would stay here again.

    I arrived on Saturday morning in Amsterdam for the Awakenings festival, so because the check in is only at 14, i paid for the room, and i asked them if they could keep my key at the 24h reception. When i came back in the night the guy of the reception didn’t know the code to log in to the computer and wasn’t able to tell me which one is my room number or to find my key and kept me waiting almost 3/4 of an hour. The location is good but they got to do something about their organisation.

    Honestly it was dirty. The reception was cool but the housekeeping dudes were complete and total assholes. Also they don't really have a good place to store your luggage and the safe for my bed was broken. I was mad to have spent so much money on such a dirty place. Honestly would've got the same experience couch surfing but it's hard to find anything much better in Amsterdam, but if I was giving advice I'd say you should definitely try. Amazing location though.

    That was a mouse in the room!!! The room was filthy. They should at least clean underneath the beds and the ventilator. They also don't have parking facilities as they say. It took us half an hour to find the direction of the hotel Even though we ring the hotel the receptionist had no idea how we could get in the hotel by car.
