The hotel using the original stone buildings of historic Dana village. In winter the building are cold, but the heater and lovely heavy duvets, kept us toasty warm. The food was excellent, we all enjoyed the local food. The scenery on the hives is amazing. Thank you Dana hotel!

Dana Hotel is a great place, run by locals. I would warmly reccomend it to travellers who’d like to hike the area (the canyon is beautiful) during the day and socialize with locals in the evenings. Food there is also delicious.

The hostel is very simple with basic facilities, the dinner buffet was good. They offer hot tea at the roof where you can chill out and exchange experiences with travellers. Tamara, the American girl working there is a cutie...we ordered a room with a shared bathroom, she upgraded us both on the same night. We left at 6 AM to start our hike to Petra, so she packed our breakfast, to have it later. Very recommended, value for money

    Very Good

After reading the reviews I was really looking forward to staying there but got a bit disappointed especially by rather unfriendly and unmotivated staff. Maybe they are not used to independent travellers as most of the other guests came with a driver that was also organizing their accommodation and doing the interaction with the staff. Still had a very good time with other very friendly and funny guests though.

The hotel is run by the community and it doesn't seem to channel any profits back into repairs or improvements, so it is run down and the bathrooms are dirty. Broken toilet, no hot water (except during the day), grey towels and linen etc. Beware- I took a guide for 2.5 hours but his English wasnt up to understanding any simple questions, he didnt show me much (olive and other fruit trees in a place of unique ecology) and he didn't take me very far- and cost $60USD. People friendly, food ok.

Stayed in March. Room very basic - one bedside table, no other furniture, not a single hook in either bedroom or bathroom for clothes/towels and a small stainless steel disc for a mirror on the washbasin. No curtains on the windows - ground floor room overlooked the street. Room cold during day and even colder at night - two blankets per bed proved insufficient and we had to sleep in our clothes. Second day we requested a heater and/or hot water botttles, but neither were forthcoming.

I had a very poor experience at Dana Hotel. It was disappointing because it is highly recommended in the LP guide. The staff were disorganised and inattentive. My room was dark and dank. The toilet didn’t flush and the shower didn’t work either with hot water. On top of all this, I was woken up a bunch of times during the night from staff coming in and out of the front gate and talking in the courtyard. I would’ve much preferred to have stayed at the nicer Dana Tower Hotel down the road.
