Great hostel, very clean with friendly staff who let us park our bike in their garage. Nice upstairs bar/restaurant and 25peso breakfast place next door. Perfect!

Decent location. Amazing prices! There's not really any lockers/etc though if that matters. The kitchen is great with a working oven and plenty of kitchen tools. It can be a bit of a party hostel at times with music late which sucks if you need to sleep, but that also means there's often events to do when you don't. The wifi is god-awful most of the time, but when it works it's decently fast for San Cristóbal internet. There's a lot of common areas both in and on/behind the hostel.

Pretty good location. We had a huge double room with ensuite, and a large terrace. Bed not too comfortable though and room quite cold as windows didn't seal well. Shower was very temperamental and keeping it hot was a challenge! Staff never seemed to be on reception and we rang the bell numerous times and no one came. Kitchen not kept clean and equipment pretty old and worn. Sink kept getting blocked. Overall good value as the room was cheap though!

I only stayed for one night and then I changed. The hostel has some great outdoor spaces and good ambience, but as a solo traveler I felt like nobody was talking to anybody. Besides it was my first time sleeping in such a worn out bed that I could feel the individual strings and parts. Not good. On the plus side it has warm showers (which my other hostel didn't have). Overall, I think you could find better in San Cristobal.

Don Nagual recently reopened under a new manager; lovely guy with great vision. A lot of work being done to transform the hostal. Currently a little rough around the edges but improving. Be aware rooms booked online may differ from availability. We booked a private bathroom & was actually shared with bedroom next door & no lock. The manager let us use another bathroom then added a lock. Most guests were staff who seemed to dominate the shared areas, particularly kitchen. Sure will change in time

We rented a private room for 3 people. The double bed was pretty fine. The single bed¨s matress was just awful. They must have put a matress which was out of use in there just to fill it in and cash some extra money for a third or fourth person. So, if you are 3 people and want a private room, this is definetely not the place to stay. The shared toilets were awfully dirty, stiking of pee. The kitchen was not only untidy but stinky as well.
