    Superb

The bunks were extremely comfortable and private! Good beds and very clean! Great showers! The staff were very lovely and helpful. Very close to everything - 10 minute walk from Nishiki Market and within minutes of the metro. Overall a very pleasant stay! Would recommend to anyone staying in Kyoto!

    Fabulous

Really nice hostel in a great location in central Kyoto – super close to Gion and Nishiki Market. Good beds and bathroom facilities (a comfortable, private pod per person). Only let down was the tiny 'common room' social area and small kitchen, which made socialising more difficult. Otherwise a great hostel in a great location.

    Fabulous

Bunkbeds are spacious and utterly convenient! Your big luggage can be placed beneath the bed. However, there is no option to use a lock. Doors of the rooms cannot be locked either. Staff has high level of English.

    Very Good

The hostel is very nicely situated (20-25 min walking distance to the Kamo river, 10-15 min to train stations, 5 min to major bus stops) and the facilities were fine, though most of the time the trash was overflowing and the bath mats were a little gross. The capsule beds were comfy! The guests in the hostel were a little unfriendly and kept to themselves (not sure why they're staying in a hostel). My biggest qualm was that the WiFi didn't work during our 3 night stay despite alerting the staff.

    Very Good

Within walking distance to quite a few attractions we wanted to visit. Stayed during Spring Break/hanami and the price wasn't astronomically high. Crappy security though since there wasn't a lock on the door to the room. I had to share one of the open cubicles (no divider/wall between beds) with my male friend and it was inconvenient. Very small hostel but at least the beds were comfortable.

Pro: * Clean capsule style accommodation. * Showers & bath very nice * common areas are all very clean * location is excellent Con: * environment absolutely does not encourage meeting people - common areas are all basically hallways with a little barstool style table that faces a wall or window * minimal security - each capsule bed has a lockbox, but anyone from the street can come inside after hours and get all the way into the dorm rooms.

They pre-authorise your card the full amount, despite already taking a deposit, then charge you 4% to pay card on arrival at the hostel. Zero security, stroll right through to whichever room you like. No working Wi-Fi during our stay, despite being ‘fixed’ half way through. Staff at the hostel are all travelling volunteers, so no recommendations for the local area. Out of 5 weeks of travelling around Japan definitely the worst hostel we stayed at.

Pros: Good location, clean and comfortable beds Cons: No common area to meet people making it hard as a solo traveler also lacks a kitchen facility, no stove or oven for cooking also only a small bar fridge for eveyone in the hostel to use.

Well. I wish I could say I enjoyed my stay here, but I did not. The only time I spent at this Hostel was sleeping. Here's why. It's a 6 floor building and I was told by staff there are no stairs, no stairs! Only an old lift with torn flooring. Wow. Then, and I hate to say, but securtiy is very limited. :( The bed capsule however is comfortable and has got many hooks for clothing. :) Some may like this style of hostel but for me, no thank you.
