Very friendly hostel! Basic breakfast of toast and jam with tea, coffee and hot chocolate, but that’s all you need really. Amazing atmosphere, but security is a bit relaxed - no lockers for luggage etc in a 20 something bed room

    Very Good

The hostel overall was really fun and the people there were all very nice. Although the rooms are said to have "air conditioning" thats barely true. So be prepared to wake up sweating. Also if you're going just because they have a pool, don't. The pool is not something I recommend swimming in, it was completely green so keep that in mind. Besides those two things though it was a fun hostel and they had a pub crawl every night to their sister hostel and a local bar. Fun time!

Granted we stayed in the 24/21 bed dorm, can’t remember which now and it was cramped!!! All the bags on the little walkway to the 3 level beds was a bit of a hazard, especially since it’s a bit of a party place. Also all the staff was great, except the owner we believe. He was a bit rude and very short tempered to other guests. A few of us watching a movie one night and exactly at 11 he just walked over and unplugged everything. Funny cause it only had about 5 minutes left too 😂🙈

Not like the pictures, pool is green and no one was ever in it. Good nights out are sorted with a mini pub crawl. Would recommend here or tipsy tiger.

Beds are 3 level and 6 across in more of a shelf like setup, mattresses are covered in plastic and you feel very insecure on your shelf. Lockers cost money to use, showers were pretty dirty as was the pool. Staff were alright, I didn't feel very welcome here and didn't get a good night's sleep, moved to another hostel.

This hostel had a bit of a weird vibe about it - it was said to be a party hostel and there was loud blaring music but not really many people around at the bar. The beds are not very comfy as it is coated in plastic and the pillow case had hairs all over it when we arrived which suggested the bedding hadn’t been washed. Don’t think we would recommend this place

Security: lockers are outside of the room and you have to pay extra for them. When the rooms are 24 bed you’d expect lockers to be included. Staff: weren’t particularly friendly or helpful. The social area is closed from 11pm-8am so if you wake up early in the morning they make you wait outside until 8am - breakfast was then served late. Cleanliness: The pool was green, the showers were mouldy and just a tin can. The beds were a piece of foam covered in plastic on top of a tin can.

So if your thinking of coming early in the morning from you flight, DONT book this place, as the reception closes at 11 and doesn’t open till 8am. And for the receptionists I don’t think I seen them smile the full 4 days I was staying here. And useless when I needed some information. Beds was hard. The only good thing was, it had hot water for showers, and the room was well ventilated. Prob won’t stay here again though.

Cleanliness needs to be desperately improved. There were roaches, a used condom under my mattress (which was covered in plastic... Classy) and dust/ trash everywhere where I slept so I can say confidently they didn't clean out the sleeping area before they gave me the bed. The a/c unit dripped all night loudly, the window next to my bed didn't close fully so there were mosquitos biting me in my sleep. There's a reason this place is only RM20 a night. Never staying here again in Penang.
