Property Description

The Earth Hostel was created by a young Amazigh (Berber) man, who loves the idea of gathering people from all nationalities together, so he decided to take the challenge and create a hostel where people from all corners of the globe who wish to experience the wonders of Morocco can meet, share, create and enjoy the unique Moroccan vibe.
Earth hostel offers 24/7 reception, luggage storage, free wifi, kitchen, laundry and standard showering facilities as well as a new roof terrace where new friends can gather and reminiscence about their daily Moroccan adventures. There are also various activities available, including cooking classes and a variety of excursions to satisfy every traveler. Rooms vary from 8 to 4 communal dorms, and only 8 minutes walk from the main square.

Earth hostel prides itself on having a unique relationship between staff and guests, connecting with clients on a personal level, offering a comfortable home away from home.

The interior design has an eco-focus, with many of the decorations repurposed from recycled and discarded items.

1)Once you get to the main square (jamaa el fana), find cafe de France, with the cafe on your right head straight, you will pass cafe Montreal on your right, continue straight in to the market (Souk el Kassabine).

2)Take a left towards the Berber market, follow the road straight and around to the right and then take the first left.

3)Continue straight and you will pass a small open square keep to the right and continue on straight - look up and to the right and go right down Derb Ennakhel (small black sign above the arch), continue straight down the ally that bends to the right until you reach house number 36 on the left side. Best place to stay in Marrakech, great location and value for money. The guys who work there are really helpful and made my stay. If it wasnt for them my trip would not have been 10/10. Karim and Ridwan top lads 👍

Everything at this hostel was great! We got in very late and Redouan came and met us and walked us back to the hostel! He even woke up at 0445 to wall us to a taxi for the airport. The bathrooms were clean, the breakfast was delicious (and free) and the dinner was perfect and cheap!! The space is right near the main square so it’s a great location and the hostel door is always locked. It can be a little warm at night but seemed to be the common theme in Morocco.

Staffs are super nice. Hostel is inside the medina with a lot of shops nearby. Beaskfast is good, and everything is clean generally. However, the room is way too small for having 10 beds. Given that this size, I think 6 beds should be the maximum for a reasonable comfort.

    Very Good

The hostel itself was really cool, the rooms where clean and big enough to not be on top of each other. It wasn't the easiest to find the hostel, the location tag on Google maps is not the exact location, but it's not too far from where it say it is. The vibe and the guests were worldly and open minded but some of the staff were a bit negative and weird at times. Nothing seemed very clear, asking questions seemed like an inconvenience.

Staff were hit and miss. They fixed my leather bag for free, but sometimes you couldn’t find them, or they’d all tell you different stories (maybe because for some English was difficult?). The 3 day tour we booked through them was good (and seemed like better value than what others got €70-80 vs €120!). Ground floor showers could do with a fan because it was full of black mould. We were disappointed because this hostel had a high rating, but the reality was different :/

We arranged an airport transfer at least 24 hours in advance and when we got to the airport we had to wait at least an hour with multiple attempts of contact. Once we arrived we had to wake the staff member up for everything we needed. Two members of our group woke up with bug bites all over them and the shower doors were see through. Did not enjoy staying here although it was very cheap.
