Hostelworld says

EastSeven Berlin Hostel has a lot of thoughtful little extras like a printer, bike rental, happy hour, umbrellas and hairdryers, so it's little wonder they were rated #1 in Germany at the 2015, 2009 and 2008 Hoscars. This very clean hostel also features a large self-catering kitchen and an outdoor BBQ area where 'it's really easy to meet people if you are travelling alone', according to Hostelworld guests. It's also close to the great bars, restaurants and shops in Prenzlauer Berg as well as Alexander Platz and Museum Island.

Absolutely amazing hostel, can’t fault a thing about it. Ended up extending my stay for an extra week as the hostel was so perfect and I fell in love with Berlin. Would 100% recommend for anyone looking for a social, party atmosphere

A good hostel with a nice atmosphere and nice people. The area has good restaurants and the metro is close by to move around.

Pretty great location 3 minutes from the U2 line and plenty of bars, cafes, restaurants, a Lidl and an off licence nearby. I had a bed on the bottom floor 4 bed dorm, huge en suite cleaned daily and lots of space. Friendly staff and residents, walked around the area at night alone with no concerns and entry requires a code sent to your email so very safe. Look to arrive before 15:00 or after 18:30 as these are the reception hours, found that out the hard way but otherwise very impressed.

Highly recommended. the hostel is social, small and cozy. The Bed sheets, showers and room are very clean. Lots of young people, dinner once a week with everyone for free including fresh salads and BBQ. I was the only female in the room and felt very safe. The location is safe, quiet and close to everything. The kitchen is fully equipped. There are a lot charging spots. The garden is very nice with lots of green plants candles on the tables and pleasant atmosphere where you can relax.

Super nice staff, the location is good near a metro and bus stops however it’s not within walking distance of any big sites. The kitchen is great but there’s only an expensive bio market near by so you’ll have to buy ingredients before coming back for dinner. Nice atmosphere, great city, great people and chill out spaces. Would stay there again.

Great hostel overall, we have really enjoyed our stay there. The hostel had one of the best atmospheres I have been at and it was clean and felt safe. On the other side, it was a bit far away from the main attractions in Berlin and it felt like the staff gave way more attention to the ones who live there rather than to the tourists. Highly recommended for solo travellers. I would probably stay again.

I found the vibe OK, but far from perfect! The communal areas are a big part of the problem…essentially there is one ‘main’ room to hang out which is a small ish square shape with seating for maybe 6-7 people. The other communal areas are… the kitchen, which was functional but pretty tiny(considering) & during my stay it was packed out regularly with some long-term guests and the garden(which in the summer i am sure is great to hang out). Staff were awesome. Rooms are huge and super clean.

Horrible :( really trying to forget my experience here. I’ll never go back. The way I was greeted at reception was really mean. I was asked what I was doing there and told they cancelled my reservation due to covid and that I was contacted many times. After checking they could see it was a mistake and they hadn’t contacted me. They admitted charging me 4x the original price as they were not receiving bookings. I was put in an isolated part of the hostel alone. Not clean, no soap & a lot worse..

EastSeven Berlin Hostel says

I think what makes us special is that we're a well-organised, relaxed hostel in a cool and safe neighbourhood. It's a small and personal hostel - but also professionally managed. We offer a lot of extras to our guests, like free Wi-Fi, powerful hot showers, a private garden with a BBQ and happy hour from 8 to 10pm, with beer that's â'¬1 for 0.5L.
Within walking distance you can find Alexanderplatz, Museum Island, Mauerpark, Kollwitzplatz and more. I recommend people take a walk down 'Casting Alley' (Kastanienallee) and then walk through Mauerpark to the Wall Documentation Centre.
I'd say our hostel is ideally suited for relaxed, adult travellers who want to meet other travellers and who prefer the chilled atmosphere of a small hostel instead of seeking the large teeny groups in the bigger chain hostels. Female travellers also love it here because of the cleanliness. :) Joerg, Owner/Manager
