Hostelworld says

EastSeven Berlin Hostel has a lot of thoughtful little extras like a printer, bike rental, happy hour, umbrellas and hairdryers, so it's little wonder they were rated #1 in Germany at the 2015, 2009 and 2008 Hoscars. This very clean hostel also features a large self-catering kitchen and an outdoor BBQ area where 'it's really easy to meet people if you are travelling alone', according to Hostelworld guests. It's also close to the great bars, restaurants and shops in Prenzlauer Berg as well as Alexander Platz and Museum Island.

This is NOT a party hostel and we do NOT have an elevator!
NO stag or hen parties, max. of 8 people per group (even if you make several smaller bookings) and no persons under 18 (unless accompanied by a parent and booking a private room).
BUT we are (very) clean and offer a lovely, relaxed atmosphere where you can feel at home, easily chat to our staff and make new friends. Hang out in the garden and use our well equipped kitchen to prepare your own food - and if you feel like it, maybe even cook dinner for your fellow travellers - we provide the foodstuff and a little extra on top.

We offer an all-you-can-eat continental breakfast with proper Italian coffee and good tea for a very low price - or get a voucher for some of the nice cafés in our neighborhood.

Our Hostel is conveniently located between the hustle and bustle of Mitte (the city's central district) and charming Prenzlauer Berg.
We're surrounded by cafés, restaurants, bars, clubs and great shops and you can walk to Alexander Platz (the heart of Berlin).

This is the ideal place for travelers seeking the true spirit of Berlin. View House Rules

Overview

Soak up the spirit of Berlin from EastSeven Berlin hostel. It's easy to get chatting if you're travelling solo – there's a sociable atmosphere, with free barbecues in our leafy garden and happy hours where the conversation (and the German beer!) flows. Start your day with our low-priced continental breakfast, or grab a discount voucher for one of the local cafés from our friendly staff. They'll also give you maps, info and recommendations, and can book you on a free walking tour so you can see the city up close.

Location

Located between Alexanderplatz, one of the city's main squares, and Prenzlauer Berg's cool bars, restaurants and shops, our hostel's got a great spot in the central Mitte neighbourhood. You'll be 18 minutes' walk from the flea market and live acts that pop up at Mauerpark. Senefelderplatz underground station is a few minutes' walk, where you can catch a ride to the Reichstag, Germany's parliament, for city-wide views from the rooftop. It'll take you 20 minutes to get here on the S-Bahn and U-Bahn from the Hauptbahnhof (main train station). From Schönefeld Airport, take the bus, tram or train to Alexanderplatz and switch to the U2 from there.

Rooms and Dorms

Book a single, double, twin or dorm with handy essentials like a locker, plug socket and reading light. You'll have a shared bathroom with power showers to wake you up if you're heading out early. Although our late check-out option is a great excuse for a longer lie-in before squeezing in some extra sightseeing on your last day! You can stow your luggage with us for free.

Extras and activities

Want to cycle to the sights? Hop on one of our rented bikes. We've also got umbrellas on hand (just in case!) plus phone chargers and padlocks if you've forgotten to pack yours. Make the most of the relaxed atmosphere in the evenings: watch Netflix in our lounge or use the free Wi-Fi. You can use our big kitchen to practise the international recipes you've picked up on your travels. Or, just to make classic cheese on toast.

    - Staff are approachable enough to have a good chat with. Helpful with reccomendations (ty for the comedy night and pub crawls) - LITERALLY outside a station - Small, cosy, never felt the sparseness that other hostels I stayed in had. Also helped to make good contacts - The most comfiest beds I've slept in... Not many hostels have good pillows - Reasonably priced. If a good coffee and good basic breakfast is in total €3 then idk what the matter is. Don't forget happy hour Would stay here again

The East Seven hostel in Berlin was awesome! It was laid back but everyone was friendly and we got a group together almost every night to go out. When coming back it was quiet and able to get a good night sleep. The coffee is super strong and it was a perfect place for me. People coming and going but so friendly. The chances to make friends from all over the world. I would definitely go back and they have a fridge so you can buy food and keep it there. Which helped save money on meals. Great!

I LOVED this hostel. So great for solo travellers, the perfect mix of social - you can have a beer for CHEAP at happy hour, but also get a good sleep. Such a great place to meet new people. The kitchen has everything you need to make food and for me was the key area for having a really good time. The atmosphere in this hostel beats the rest. Stayed here for 3 nights, had to stay at another hostel my last 2 nights in berlin, i ended up going back to this hostel to hang out anyways. Best hostel!!!

Very nice hostel just outside the city center of Berlin. Staff is enthusiastic and very willing to help. Facilities are clean and sufficiently available.ind that you need to bring your own lock for the lockers, although you can rent them for a small price as well. Excellent choice for people travelling alone, it is easy to meet great people and make some good friends!

This place is amazing! It attracts so many friendly and interesting people. The community spaces like the kitchen and adorable outdoor patio really allow you to connect with other travelers. The staff are also super friendly and helpful. This is a great place for solo travelers! It isn’t the fanciest or most modern place but it’s clean and does the basics well. I only stayed for 2 nights but I had a great time. I highly recommend! It has good reviews for a reason!

EastSeven Berlin Hostel says

I think what makes us special is that we're a well-organised, relaxed hostel in a cool and safe neighbourhood. It's a small and personal hostel - but also professionally managed. We offer a lot of extras to our guests, like free Wi-Fi, powerful hot showers, a private garden with a BBQ and happy hour from 8 to 10pm, with beer that's â'¬1 for 0.5L.
Within walking distance you can find Alexanderplatz, Museum Island, Mauerpark, Kollwitzplatz and more. I recommend people take a walk down 'Casting Alley' (Kastanienallee) and then walk through Mauerpark to the Wall Documentation Centre.
I'd say our hostel is ideally suited for relaxed, adult travellers who want to meet other travellers and who prefer the chilled atmosphere of a small hostel instead of seeking the large teeny groups in the bigger chain hostels. Female travellers also love it here because of the cleanliness. :) Joerg, Owner/Manager
