Our stay was excellent . The only thing , for our liking the mattresses could have been firmer. I would recommend the Hostel to everyone and hopefully will use it again .

Place was perfect for our stay. Great to have the cafe linked for breakfast and snacks. Staff were very friendly and kindly put us in a room to ourselves because there were vacancies. Shower was powerful and the facilities very clean. Would have liked the option to hire a sheet for the matress as well as sleeping bag and towel because it was a hot night. Also a hairdryer would have been useful. But otherwise it ticked all the boxes.

We stayed as a group of women walking saint cuthbert's way. The hostel was so helpful allowing us to park, providing taxi information and places to eat nearby. The place was very clean and everything was new. There was even a bath! Location is brilliantly placed - you couldn't hear the traffic & views out the back are beautiful. There is a cashpoint and a small shop at the garage which is really useful to stock up. There are microwaves but no cooker and basic cooking facilities. Fab place!

Very clean helpful and friendly welcome from Shaun and other staff. Very, very quiet just after new year and I had the room to myself which was great. Great to have porridge for breakfast. Very quiet even though close to main road, there was no noise from traffic.

Good if you’re passing through and need a bed. You get a sleeping bag rather than bedding. Not very inviting atmosphere.

Shawn - who runs the place was lovely, but there was no-one on site to discuss the usual travel/tourist issues one usually does in a hostel. I was the only guest on one night! The matresses were extremely uncomfortable and made for terrible quality of sleep for myself and all others I met who stayed there. Also-no bedding except a pillowcase and sleep bag was provided. These issues plus the lack of kitchen facilities-eg hob, oven, sharp knives makes this place terrible value for money.
