I organised a stay over New Year and 18 of us stayed for at least three nights. During all telephone contacts before and all face to face with Shaun before and during our stay he remained extremely helpful and supportive with all my requests. All of our needs were attended to as soon as possible by Shaun, the lovely Shelley and all the very pleasant staff who were accommodating in every way. Our group of walkers were out each day but thoroughly enjoyed all facilities before and after our walks.

The location and facilities were fantastic and Shaun and his staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. We were a large party and the kitchen was a bit small for all of us and not as well equipped as we might have wanted. However, Shaun did whatever he could to help us out.

A nice little stop off on the way to Lindisfarne. The chap running the place was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and modern. My only complaint really was that the beds weren't the comfiest

I was overcharged as I paid £3 reservation through the website and was then charged £20.40 at the hostel £23.40 total. The bunk should have been £20. Also the charging of a fee for using a debit card was banned as of January 2018 but was still added.

Good: Newly renovated bunk rooms at highway rest stop & bus stop to Lindisfarne island. Bad: pay extra for a sweat-smelling nylon sleeping bag, no liner/linen. Restaurant closes at 5pm but there is a hotel/pub a few doors down. All would have been ok but the sleeping bag killed it for us.

It is incredibly overpriced as I have never stayed in a hostel with more uncomfortable mattresses (can SEE the springs), didn't include linen, charged for a smelly nylon sleeping bag (washed?), no lockers, and the kitchen facilities are a joke. Only 2 bowls for the hostel, just a microwave. In the middle of nowhere with no grocery store just a gas station in walking distance. Didn't have internet half the time of stay because their service was cancelled! Not backpacker friendly.
