    Superb

Cafecito was quite literally the best hostel I’ve stayed at in South America. With wood floors, showers scalding if you want them to be and clean everything, the place already feels like home. Combine that with a beautiful rooftop terrace overlooking the city and an owner who takes the time to make sure every guest gets the most out of Ecuador – you have magic. Highly recommend the hostel to solo travelers (like me) and groups alike!

El Cafecito is an awesome hostel in Cuenca with a view of the city from the rooftop patio. It’s a beautiful and fun place to stay, with lots of nice people and a great atmosphere! I hope I’ll be back at some point!

    Fabulous

Great location and a rooftop terrace overlooking a nice plaza. On the bright side, the owner - Tony - is a great (though a bit wierd) guy to chat with and is a fantastic source of useful info on Cuenca/Equador. Hot water has great pressure. On the downside, bed linen is terrible, beds uncomfy and shower drainage is poor. Overall, a great place to hang out and socialize, but the facilities are below average (and I stayed in a private). Up to you to choose what matters more for you. I vote 'yes'.

This place has a ton of potential, owner is great, but theres a bunch of little things that just make it not worth staying there. 1)Only one key for everyone, which needs to be thrown off the rooftop every time you want to come back inside 2)Almost never any toilet paper and the owner dosent believe in hand soap in the washrooms 3)No lockers 4)Sign to the entrace is barely visible, had to ask 5 people where it was 5)Shower floods the whole bathroom every time, no mats 5)breakfast not included
