Property Description

Located in the heart of Granada, just one block from the central park and a walking distance from restaurants, bars and the night life of the city, El Caite Hostel is a combination of comfort, relax atmosphere and great budget. It´s the best place to stay to enjoy the Colonial city of Granada, one of the oldest cities in the continent. El Caite is the place where you make friends, where travel stories are shared and where you plan your next move in Nicaragua. Caite is a Nahualt word (Language of native indigenous population of Mexico and Central America.) meaning shoes or sandals. Ancient indigenous from Central America used Caites to help them walk over the region, moving from Mexico until south of Nicaragua. We chose the name Caite because we feel it represents the spirit of international trotters.

We are located in one of the most privileged location of Granada. We are just a few minutes away walking from Fortaleza de la Pólvora, one of the biggest tourist landmarks of the city. In addition, Casino Mundo Slot Granada, Parque Central and La Calzada Centro de Arte, amongst other tourist attractions of the city.

We have private rooms, shared rooms with fan, shared rooms with AC, and shared rooms for girls only. Furthermore, we also have several common areas and amenities that will make the stay of the guests and travellers magnificent.

    Superb

Perfect chilled stay, nice clean pool and decent free breakfast that was rotated each day. Room was clean and comfortable and AC was quiet. Staff were friendly and happily rewashed a couple of items that I sent for laundry that were stained from volcano boarding. A free drink during happy hour but you have to ask for it. Very chilled, not a sociable hostel or good for meeting people, but we wanted a quiet stay so was ideal.

Some of the staff didn't know their stuff while others were great. Breakfast, pool, enough bathrooms, very good matresses and sheets. Not that many solo travellers, though.

Nice pool and courtyard great place to chill. Comfy beds. 2 blocks to city center. Many options for evening and day trips to the volcano or lake. My only regret is not staying longer. My only complaint would be the folks that showed up with 5 young kids that was obnoxious at the pool and surrounding area. Not the hostle fault.

    Fabulous

Booked the room with A/C (Superior). It was only on from 8pm-8am and there were no fans in the room which made it hard to sleep in or nap. There was also only one power outlet, in the shower room, which made it inconvenient to charge my phone. Other than that the place was perfect for my needs. The staff was nice and helpful and the pool was clean. Not social at all, there were a couple random families staying. But you can go across to the Townhouse hostel to socialize. Overall recommendable.

    Fabulous

Not much of a social atmosphere, but we were also there during a religious holiday over the weekend so most businesses were closed until Tuesday. There wasn't a lot of backpackers around Granada in general at the time we were there. Location is very good. Facilities and rooms were clean. We didn't use it, but the pool is super nice.

    Fabulous

The property was very clean. Hot water worked great. AC only at night. Breakfast & coffee were good. Breakfast changed daily. Nica breakfast one day, then pancakes & fruit the next. Great location. Lockers under the bunks had issues, some lockers lined up properly & some didn’t, so locks only worked on some. WiFi worked well in the common area but not as well in the rooms. No social atmosphere at all, everyone kept to themselves. Only owner spoke good English. Nice stay for a couple of days.

The rooms have AC which is why I stayed and there’s a nice pool but the bed had someone else’s hair in it! Staff were helpful and the security is good. Good be better

    Very Good

Hostel itself seemed pretty clean but our room was quite dirty. The bathroom was filthy and the shower drain held water and wouldn’t drain properly so had to turn the shower off a few times when having a shower to allow it to drain (drain was black so not sure when it was last cleaned) we also had holes in our sheets and the bed was rock hard. Staff kind of seemed like they didn’t want to help and we felt a bit inconvenient however security is great, the free breakfast was really tasty.

    Good

PROS: Quiet. More quiet spaces to relax and find peace. Breakfast and coffee was substantial and good. Central location. CONS: Lockers would not work, I had to borrow someone elses to lock my stuff. Fan in my bed didn't work, so I had a very uncomfortable night. I'd definitely stay here again, but would also look into other hostels first.

Generally speaking, it was good, there some provement should take place.such as Stuff halpful, but spend a lot of time on the phone while guest standing front of them. Bathroom sink faucet without hot water, no hair dryer, and no powerin the shower.
