Property Description

Located in the heart of Granada, just one block from the central park and a walking distance from restaurants, bars and the night life of the city, El Caite Hostel is a combination of comfort, relax atmosphere and great budget. It´s the best place to stay to enjoy the Colonial city of Granada, one of the oldest cities in the continent. El Caite is the place where you make friends, where travel stories are shared and where you plan your next move in Nicaragua. Caite is a Nahualt word (Language of native indigenous population of Mexico and Central America.) meaning shoes or sandals. Ancient indigenous from Central America used Caites to help them walk over the region, moving from Mexico until south of Nicaragua. We chose the name Caite because we feel it represents the spirit of international trotters.

We are located in one of the most privileged location of Granada. We are just a few minutes away walking from Fortaleza de la Pólvora, one of the biggest tourist landmarks of the city. In addition, Casino Mundo Slot Granada, Parque Central and La Calzada Centro de Arte, amongst other tourist attractions of the city.

We have private rooms, shared rooms with fan, shared rooms with AC, and shared rooms for girls only. Furthermore, we also have several common areas and amenities that will make the stay of the guests and travellers magnificent.

Quaint, rustic bed & breakfast. Inviting communial area with plenty of seating including a couple of hammocks plus a nice pool. Air conditioning worked great, rooms were clean and spacious. Staff was very attentive and courteous. Breakfast was typical Nicarguan style (gallopinto, eggs, toast, coffee and natural fruit punch) pretty good. All in all great value and excellent location! Thank you!

Great hostel, great location. Not a party hostel, but that’s why we chose it. Good breakfast. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Air con in the room was a godsend as it was so hot in Granada!!! Nice and filling breakfast included and a big enough pool to cool down in as well. Room was clean and spacious and value for money.

Not much of a social atmosphere, but we were also there during a religious holiday over the weekend so most businesses were closed until Tuesday. There wasn't a lot of backpackers around Granada in general at the time we were there. Location is very good. Facilities and rooms were clean. We didn't use it, but the pool is super nice.

    Very Good

Hostel itself seemed pretty clean but our room was quite dirty. The bathroom was filthy and the shower drain held water and wouldn’t drain properly so had to turn the shower off a few times when having a shower to allow it to drain (drain was black so not sure when it was last cleaned) we also had holes in our sheets and the bed was rock hard. Staff kind of seemed like they didn’t want to help and we felt a bit inconvenient however security is great, the free breakfast was really tasty.

Generally speaking, it was good, there some provement should take place.such as Stuff halpful, but spend a lot of time on the phone while guest standing front of them. Bathroom sink faucet without hot water, no hair dryer, and no powerin the shower.

I was probably expecting a better room, not being experienced with hostels. The staff were really helpful, the ladies good about my laundry ( they did not speak any English, not a problem for me, but could be for others)
