Great stay and everyone was so helpful!! We forgot our bag on the bus and Ana helped us recover it. The hostel has great vibes. Make sure you try out the dinner they offer. Also, I had the best scrambled beans for breakfast at el muro!

Loved my stay here at El Muro! It was most chill hostel I have ever stayed at. Not to mention the gorgeous views of the jungle from my room and the sitting area. I could just listen and sit at the hammocks there for days. Staff especially the bartender (shoutout to Blacky!) and the host (Ana) were so friendly and welcoming. I also appreciated that the hostel had an organized tour for Semuc Champey which was one of the big highlights of my vacation in Guatemala. Recommend!

Nice and friendly staff, food is nice but waiting times are endless! Cold shower although it was supposed to be at least warm. Be careful when booking tours with them, look around first. We were strongly advised to get a shuttle with them to ensure a better trip and no scams. We ended up in an unbearably hot minivan when all the other shuttles had A/C and paid less.

Waited to check in 15 minutes for a staff member to appear while buttoning his pants. He gave no info and didn't have answers when I asked questions. The staff were terrible. Spent more time laying in the hammocks than helping guests. Even to order at the bar, they just ignore you standing there. Came back at 3pm and was locked out as staff was showering. Facilities weren't great. Shower and wifi barely worked. No towel was provided. Only positive was the location, close to the bus stops.

We didn't even stay the 1 night we were booked in this hostel. The room smelt damp and you could see water in between the tiles as well as wet wood. Very unhygenic.

The cleaning is very poor but the reason we will never recommend this place is Ana (staff) the filing you get from her is only how to take your money... The only good point in this hostel is Mikel the bartender

I didn’t get to stay at El Muro, because although I had booked a stay through hostel world (by about a month), when I showed up-in a foreign country after a 12hr bus ride- the Guy at El Muro didn’t even have the decency to tell me they didn’t have a room available for and tried to skate over it. His English was proficient, so I don’t take it to be a language barrier. He tried to, without telling us what was going on send us to a sketchy hostel down the road. Rude, shady- don’t stay here.
