Fantastic staff, really welcoming and happy to help you. I really loved that, I had a very warm welcome. Sofia (I hope that's correct, it was 2 weeks ago!) recommended some wonderful places for me. The hostel is SUPER clean, I was very happy about that. It's mainly a place to stay, so it's perfect to chill and rest up after swimming on Akumal beach. Not a party hostel and that's absolutely perfect for me. In a local neighborhood which was excellent, more authentic, a short walk to the beach.

We had a great stay at El Padrino. The room and bed were super nice, we had full use of the kitchen and enjoyed sitting on the roof in the morning and at night. There's not much of a common space to hang out but the location is great and Sophia, the staff person is really friendly and helpful.

We made a stop in Akumal in our way to Tulum. Was awesome staying in the town because there was very little tourists. Everyone was very friendly. El Padrino was easy to find we just asked the locals and they pointed in the right direction. The staff there were very helpful giving us great tips and pointers on what to do for our stay. Our room had the necessities and was great to have Netflix and chill at the end of the night :) I recommend To anyone looking for an authentic Mexican experience!

Sofia was welcoming as soon as we arrived, and the room was absolutely sparkling clean! They had filtered water available and a kitchen. The location was a comfortable walk (maybe 10-15 minutes) from the beach, and we were really glad we stayed in the town. The place is still being built so it doesn’t have a final finish but is great to stay anyway! It was a little noisy at night with dogs/babies from neighbours but it felt like we were immersed in the community. We would stay again!

It’s still under construction at the moment. When I arrived I was alone with to sign where to go. This little boy came to open the room for me. It was hard to get informations since he only spoke Spanish and no adults were present.
