We are in the Nicaraguan Ometepe Island, in the area of Santa Cruz / Madronal, in the Maderas volcano, one km before Balgue. We are located near to some of the best and finest attractions of the area such as Volcano Maderas, Volcano Concepcion and Playa Santa Cruz, amongst other interesting spots of our location. The farm is 300m from the main road and that keep the place an oasis of peace... We have various types of hospitality on offer. Private rooms, dormitories, camping areas and hammocks are situated in various locations on the farm. Everything has been built or planned to be immersed in the natural environment and to respect it greatly. Our great variety of choices means that our hospitality is accessible to all kinds of people and budgets. The hostel is located in a slope and there is always some breeze that keeps the rooms naturally fresh and ventilated so we don't need to waist energy in using fans and definitely no air conditioner. Wow what a magical place!! I ended up extending my trip as there was so much going on at the hostel from yoga classes, family dinners, permaculture tour, woman circles, jam sessions and so much more. My highlight had to be the pizza party hosted on Thursday and Saturdays, there is such a good vibe at these with great tunes followed by an unbelievable fire show 💥. If you can do one thing in Ometepe then stay here you will not regret it.

    Very Good

The fact that this hostel in located in nature is the best thing. I came for this reason, and for that I enjoyed it very much. They have a nice restaurant and good food. The only thing I did not like was they don't tell you where things are, so you have to kind of search around for them yourself. Not even sure where the usable kitchen was located.. they just pointed up the hill. If you're happy with open rooms and nature, this is a good place for you. I recommend bringing a headlamp!

Fun, social, nice pizza night. Hippy vibe. It gets very dark- need a head torch. Kitchen is practically non existent- no plates, no fridge, no lights. Have to buy their food basically which can be a bit annoying. Jungley which is fun.

Absolute s*** hole, f****** people there are space cadets. Plastic hippies. Foods over priced but the locals are absolutely lovely, it’s the g******s and the rat s*** on the bed that make it terrible. People in Ceremony for 48 hours playing s*** music throughout the night

El Shitilote indeed. Sheets covered in stains and rat droppings. Room was a 15 minute uphill hike in the dark from the road. Staff were unhelpful.

El Shitilote This is the worst place I have ever stayed. I woke up on the first morning and my face was covered in flea bites. My pillow was infested. Nothing was done about this after asking for new bedding multiple times. Eventually I was moved to another hut, and there were 2 rats in the room. There were insects in the food and drinks, the staff were the rudest people I’ve ever met. Greenwashing!! This hostel claims to be eco friendly and self sufficient but is not. The hostel also pressured me into r

No and no. Staff are very clicky who make no effort with you, you can hear them running around and chanting at 3am in the woods which is highly unsettling. There are no kitchen facilities in order to get you to buy overpriced food and coffee. A massive cult vibe throughout and the mosquito nets do not work. It’s a massive trek to get to and if it’s raining it’s actually dangerous to get back to. Amongst travellers in Nicaragua there is a reputation of this place. I wouldn’t recommend it to my worst enemy, w
