Loved El Zopilote!!!! It is the ideal place to slow down and surround yourself back into nature. It became my jungle oasis of waking up to the sunrise, seeing howler monkeys, and starting my day with yes, FREE yoga! The property is a permaculture with amazing opprutinties to learn about sustainable living, cacao ceremonies, and guided tours of the property. The restaurant is a farm to table experince with fresh organic food and the property is BREATHTAKING!

This is THE place to stay while at Ometepe. It’s not like any hostel that you’ve visited before - it’s set in the jungle, surrounded by a huge, abundant permaculture farm. The farm to table restaurant is incredibly fresh, healthy and tasty. You can go to the beach, hike the volcanoes, take Spanish lessons or participate in free afternoon activities such as yoga, meditation, various ceremonies and handicraft sessions. The Pizza nights have the best pizzas I’ve ever had. Don’t miss el Zopilote!!!

I fell in love with this place the moment I arrived there. Beautiful atmosphere and a really good restaurant. Clean toilets and rooms. Definitely for people who are willing to experience a bit of jungle life. Daily yoga classes and other activities like cacao ceremonies, bonfires or other workshops. Highly recommended for people looking for another type of hostel experience!

Really amazing hostel right in the jungle- hippy vibes and pizza really good. Can only really buy food from the restaurant which is quite expensive (but delicious!) and is quite hard to get too. But definitely recommend to someone looking for something a bit different on their travels! Morning yoga in the jungle is something I’ll remember

    Fabulous

Interesting vibe - high ratio of farm volunteers who didn’t seem to have much to do with the paying guests. The pizza night was a highlight as was the giant toad in our ground floor room (we called him Dave) and the nesting pigeon in our eaves. Our cabin was pretty isolated - but a few lights facing out or up seemed to be left on all night shining up into our cabin. Good food in the restaurant.

This is a farm and slightly far from the bus stop, but it's a good value. The restaurant is delicious and everyone is very friendly. It can get hot at night and the facilities are very basic. Just know what you're getting into first.

A really interesting place, the tour of the farm is well worth doing, learned a lot from the owner about permaculture and the mission of the hostel. However, our room had no walls. I think this is okay if you are expecting no walls but we had expected a dorm with walls. Also, the bed wasn’t made, not a big deal in itself but I have paid less money to stay places with the bed made and with walls. The hostel has a very particular vibe which some people love but we found it to be quite antisocial
