I thought this place was great. I spent 2 nights here. It's in a quiet neighborhood that's just slightly out if the way. Recommended.

This was one of the best hostels in my 5 months of travelling. The hostel itself is an old residence that gives a glimpse of the elegance of old Valparaiso. The kitchen and courtyard are sunny, central environments that invite you to relax and share a meal, drink, or conversation with one of the other travellers. The beds are comfortable and clean. Finally- the staff are highlight of the hostel, and make you feel immediately at home. Thank you, Escarabajo!

Amazing place to base yourself for Valparaiso. Great location with views just down the block of the water. Located near the Pablo Neruda house. Staff was great and super friendly. Will most likely be back when I return to this wonderful city.

Big hostel with good kitchen and outside facilities. Only downside was there was a small, badly placed fan in our 6 bed dorm which meant it was pretty hot to sleep. Good dorm beds and lockers big enough for our big bags which was good. Shared single s** bathrooms which were clean. Good security with people on the reception desk at all times. Only stayed one night so can’t really comment on location but it’s close to a metro station so always easy to get around. Would stay again.

Loved this cute little backpacker hostel. Had a great, cozy, and homey vibe. Showers/bathrooms could use a little cleaning but the rooms were in good condition. The staff & especially Camilla was lovely & recommended we take the walking tour which was awesome! Only other complaint is that the hostel is listed as free breakfast but they only provide bread, butter, & jam. Great location conveniently located near a funicular.

Good hostel, no negative comments! Keep in mind that it's a bit of a climb up the hill. Big lockers for your backpack.

Everyone was super friendly in this hostel, they put on a group meal the night we stayed here and the courtyard area was a great social space so would say its a great place for making friends. The only downside was we were in a 10 bed dorm and the beds were really close together (and lockers were too small to fit your belongings/backpacks in) so there wasn’t really anywhere secure to leave your stuff. Beds were super squeaky when anyone moved too!

The room was pretty small for 12 people and there were just 9 lockers for the room. The small garden is really nice and the breakfast is simple but totally okay. We expected something different but all in all it was okay.

A somewhat average hostel that with a little more effort could transform to a great place. From our check in we immediately saw there was no organisation - staff had no clue which dorm or beds we were sleeping in. Lockers were full of rubbish from previous guests. Dorm was dark and smelt stale and of the bathroom drain. Cigarette butts and empty bottles at breakfast was not great. Average breakfast. You get what you pay for - nothing thrilling here.
