Overview

Bonjour and welcome to FIAP Jean Monnet! Our mission is to help you do central Paris on a budget, so settle into your room (linen and towels included) then join us in the cafeteria for free breakfast. Get to know other travellers in our two cocktail areas, two restaurants, on-site bar or outdoor terrace with picnic tables and parasols. (That terrace is great for an al-fresco lunch with new friends. Just saying!)

Location

We're in the 14th arrondissement in central Paris, once home to the Left Bank intellectuals (at Montparnasse Cemetery you'll find the graves of Jean-Paul Sartre and Samuel Beckett). Our nearest Métro station is Glacière on Line 6, but we're also close to Denfert-Rochereau station for a direct line to Charles de Gaulle airport in around 45 minutes. Tick off your Paris checklist by walking to the Latin Quarter (30 minutes), or take the Métro to the Louvre (30 minutes) or the Eiffel Tower (40 minutes).

Rooms and Dorms

All our rooms – single, twin, triple, quad... even our dorms (male- or female-only) – have en-suite showers and toilets. We're even wheelchair friendly! Store your bags in a security locker and hop into your bunk with your travel guide or favourite book under the light of your reading lamp. We've got adapters if you need one to plug in your phone while you use the free Wi-Fi to Snapchat your besties at home.

Extras and activities

If this is your first time in Paris, help yourself to a free city map from our 24-hour reception desk. Our multilingual staff can give you tips for exploring the city, though you might want to just stay in and chill out in our many indoor and outdoor common areas. Flick though our DVDs, kick off a round of pool or start up a fun Wii game. Laundry facilities and late checkout options mean you can wash and go whenever you like.

Maybe the best hostel I’ve stayed in. Only negative: no soap/shampoo in the bathrooms/showers.

The location, cleanliness and staff were amazing. Very comfortable bed and facilities. I didn't realize before booking Check out is extremely early at 9:30am. Wish the bathrooms had soap, but otherwise highly recommend this hostel.

    Fabulous

I arrived pretty late due to an airport mishap, but was comforted to see there was a guard outside the building. It was easy to pay and check in. The bathrooms were the cleanest we saw after spending a week in different hostels. The breakfast was pretty great, it was really convenient. Beds were comfortable and had easy access to chargers.

    Fabulous

It's more of a hotel than a hostel, not necessairly a bad thing, it depends what you're looking for! The room was very clean and had toilets and showers inside. Plus a hairdryer which was nice. And lockers. The breakfast was quite varied. Location was alright. Very close to the catacombs but for the other attractions had to use the metro. Cons: no ambiance, more of a family vibe, some lockers had broken locks and some showers had transparent doors. Overall, it was a nice place and I recommend!

    Very Good

The main issue is that rooms have no AC, so get pretty hot and humid in the summers (I stayed in August). Another issue (minor for me) is there is zero atmosphere in the hostel. Other than that, its total value for money if you care about cleanliness - ~30 Euros for 4-bed ensuite, neat bathrooms (two showers) and towels included.

Reasonable for what it is. Food was okay, nothing special but not terrible. It was fairly toasty in July. It looked like there was a "fan" icon on one of the buttons in my room but it was stifling. I'd open the windows, but due to the way the place is structured, you hear *every word* of your neighbor's conversation. So, if you don't mind staying up til midnight, when most of the young kids have stopped running the hallways and most grownups retire, you can get a good night's sleep.

Would not stay here again. Noisy hostel/hotel full of school kids running up and down corridors the whole time all through night. Breakfast very limited and far out and not much within walkable distance. Staff nice and room clean but did not make up for noise and lack of friendly atmosphere.

I do not normally give reviews but for this place I have to. You are not allowed food (even snacks) or drinks in your room your bags gets checked every time you leave and come back and if you are with someone and you only bring 1 room key down you have to go through a security check to get back up. Felt like jail. Wifi is horrible does not work in the rooms. The rooms are like saunas no air conditioners or ventilation. Would not stay here again. Staff were not friendly. Waste of money!
