I booked a bed in a female room. When I arrived in my room, the beds were messy and had no pillow. I went to the staffs to report the problem and, promptly, they put me in a private room. Thank you for the Fat Camel team's attention!

This is the second stay I've had at the Camel. This apartment was much better, with only 2 rooms (a 4 bed and a 6 bed mixed dorm). Much better in terms of the noise generation being kept to a minimum, save the noisy Americans that turned up (can't avoid them, I guess). Otherwise good. The facilities left a little to be desired however, with the dryers needing a double cycle and the kitchen only having half of the elements working. The staff were friendly as always, and make all the difference.

I had a good stay! The staff are very friendly but the organisation could be better - sometimes overbooking and leaving customers without beds (but this appears to be an issue with most hostels). There are good kitchen facilities and enough showers to get the job done, but these were cold on occasion, again, not the hostels fault really. The hostel walls etc are in need of a little TLC but my bed was comfortable, ready to use on arrival and with clean sheets. Thus great value 😁 thanks guys 😁

It's in a good location and safe enough but it's so disgusting & dirty. No windows in kitchen area and some of the rooms. Kitchen is grubby and worst of all is the bathroom! Clearly never gets cleaned, shower floods and it is so hot & stuffy. Definitely wouldn't stay here again I'm afraid.

I have stayed at multiple backpackers in the past. All receptionists at my previous stays have been usually friendly and receptive. However, the receptionist who works on weeknights here is rude and uncouth, and totally uncooperative. Behaves like he owns the place, and totally uncouth and uncooperative. Putting out this comment so that future boarders know what to expect if they check-in the middle of the night and unfortunately come across this guy.I still wonder how did he even get hired ?

I payed for a four beds bedroom and they put me in an eight beds bedroom because they said, it was overbooked. The following day I was I a four beds but although the houskeepers did their best, people didn't care much about keeping it clean.

When we arrive we found out that they had over booked us and that we have been booked in at another hostel 10mins away. We choose the Fat Camel for its proximity to bars and restaurants which took us away from those. We weren't offered any transport and had to ask for directions instead of them being offered. When arrived at the 'other' place, found we were only booked in for one night instead of two. Thankfully they could fit us in but meant we were in separate rooms.
