One of the best hostels I have ever stayed at. Super nice owners/staff and awesome interior. Clean and tidy rooms with a pleasant scent filling the property. Walking distance to the bus terminal and to the major tourist sites, and two convenient stores for every needs in 1 minute walk. Definitely worth the money; highly recommended.

What a wonderful place to stay! I think it was one of the coolest places I have stayed in and I have been travelling for over 40 years. The young man who seemed to be the one running the hostel was so kind, thoughtful, and cared about the little touches to make the hostel different from anything I've seen before. I absolutely loved it. He also gave me advice about a special festival that only happened once a year. The young woman staff member with whom I spoke was also very good.

The place is a little hard to find, but it’s got great stuff and also a very lovely set up. Plus the rules are reasonable, and my night there was very restful. Also, if any of you speak English and are going to be in this area, the staff member speak a little English so it does help quite a bit .

Absolutely lovely, traditional Japanese hostel! I spent my first 2 nights in Japan here and it was the most authentically Japanese place I stayed on my whole trip! Really glad I got that experience! The people that work there are so lovely and more than happy to help you out and give you tips. The decor is very traditional, including the tatami rooms! The hostel is very quiet & peaceful so do not book it if you're looking for a wild, social place-its literally the opposite of that! So relaxing!

LOVE LOVE LOVE! Super clean and friendly. I was a solo traveller and they had amazing knowledge about what to do and great suggestions right off the bat. They help me figure out how to get to Takachiho Gorge which was amazing! Rooftop is awesome! Great place to chill out and have a few drinks. Would love to return again x

Great hostel! Close to a tram and 20 minute walk to the castle. Beds were traditional japanese, but with an extra matress (matress + tatami mat) and super comfy. Facilities are great, decoration is traditional and amazing. Roof is awesome with place to dry your clothes. Washing machine for 200 yen but no dryer. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Everything was pretty clean. Common room was great but I was nearly alone in the hostel during my stay (no atmosphere). Huge storage chest with lock!
