Might be run by ghosts? I didn't see a single other person, guest or staff, during my one night stay. Kind of a funny experience! Granted, I arrived late and left early. Everything went smoothly, just didn't see anyone! Seemed clean and secure. I was just passing through town on the way to Edinburgh, so I didn't experience much of the hostel. Seemed quiet, a little out of the way, but simple and cheap.

Quiet location and I suppose not bad for the value of money. A little dodgy with a broken inner door in the morning!!

The showers were hot, the beds were nice, and the rooms were clean. Was let down by the distance of the hostel from the city centre and by the amount of noise from the shop below.

I had a terrible experience in this hostel. The cleanliness is nonexistent and we don’t feel safe (non lockers, even the room door can’t be closed). The breakfast is actually a few items left on the room (the bread was in a advanced stage of mold and the fridge for cold items was unplugged). In addition, the manager wake us up in the night to pay for the stay. At this moment, I asked him for the bread and he told me that no one from the staff came in the room for weeks. Bad experience!

Paid an £80 deposit and left the room exactly the way we left it. Got scammed for £80 on top of the original price.

My stay at the Fenham hostel was terrible. They advertise free breakfast which is a lie, no breakfast or food is supplied during stay. Security of belongings is not guaranteed which resulted in a constant fear of having them lost or stolen. Staff are said to be there 24/7, however during my stay I only saw staff on check in time and once or twice during each of the other days. The facilities are very unclean and unsanitary. There were people knocking on our door begging for food and money.

Didn’t stay there as I couldn’t get in, couldn’t contact them either. Arrived at 5.30 not 2hrs after may scheduled time of arrival and place was dark and locked up like Fort Knox. Was super far from city center and in the dodgiest part of Newcastle.

I didn’t feel safe at all. I’ve waited for more than one hour in front of the door, waiting and calling for staff to open it for me, because I didn’t have the code. The man said that he was coming but never came. So I left. Such a bad way to treat their guests. I wouldn’t recommend this place.
