Loved it I stayed in the 8 man dorm it was packed but didn't feel like it, lots of room, best breakfast for a hostel in San José, wish I could have stayed longer, as the next night I was walking by and there was a mariachi band playing inside there's good vibes here totally worth it.

Andre is a fun and patient host that encourages you to practice Spanish to function which is a bonus. Breakfast is great and free.

I have stayed at this property before. I did not stay this time because my e-mails weren't answered even after following up. I had some logistical questions that would have made me feel more comfortable if they were answered. It's a nice property and a great location with lots of restaurants around.

I've stayed in this hostel before. I love the feeling of being in an old hacienda. Love the outdoor courtyard spaces and comfy beds. The neighborhood is full of great restaurants and bars. Next time though, I'll request the much quieter 2nd floor.

    Fabulous

We didn’t get to stay long, we had an early morning flight, but it was nice. I liked the location best, and it felt very safe and secure. We had the private room, and a couple of beds in their shared female dorm and it was decently clean, comfortable beds, and nice bathrooms. The free breakfast and coffee was a nice appeal so that we could grab something and go in the morning. The only thing I can say though is that we were thinking more hotel and it’s more of a hostel vibe.

Based in the thriving Barrio of Escalante, this colonial style finca leaves a lot to be desired with shelves falling off the shower wall and dirt in the dorms. Most staff were fine but the middle aged male on front desk looked stressed out, unhelpful and sullen. Breakfast was ok but curtains lacking in dorm (did not meet). Nice garden. Pool table on a frustrating slant. Cheap but needs fixing. Fresh fruit supermercado 1 minute

Our room wasn't mopped the floor was dirty and the toilet was all dirty and disgusting under the seat. I had snacks from hiking in a ziplock and a rat or something tore the bag and while we were away. We gave them laundry and paid $10USD and they said it would be done at night. It wasn't done until the next day and we had a flight to catch, they washed it late in the morning and we had to pack our clothes wet. Do not recommend and definitely will never stay here when visiting.
