Even cooler, since opening in 2013, we've become the largest hostel in the whole of Texas. Our attached Firehouse Lounge is a great place to meet people, sip on handcrafted cocktails or locally brewed beers, and enjoy live music. And the morning after, we'll make sure you're treated to a wholesome free breakfast.

If you're here for sightseeing, it'll take you just over 10 minutes to walk to the Texas State Capitol building or the Colorado River.

This was an excellent hostel in the heart of bustling nightlife, making most of austin accessible by foot. The staff were super friendly and just beautiful people who were more than willing to help with any enquires. They kept on top of the management of the hostel, which made it a very clean, organised, comfortable place to stay. My only feedback would be to clean the showers more regularly through the day.

Great place! Really enjoyed the place. Nice staff. Only concerns were that it was noisy even after quiet hours (probably due to nearby bars) and bathrooms were a bit stinky.

Very cool hostel in the heart of Austin! It has lots of modern amenities like plug-ins in each bunk and fans. Protips: you're a light sleeper... bring earplugs! and, I wouldn't count on the breakfast...

This location CANNOT BE BEAT. The entire staff was super cool, kind and always helpful with tips in terms of where to go, what to eat and easy ways to save money! The showers could use a little work but they weren’t bad. Overall it was such a good experience and I’m glad I gave hostels a chance. Roommates and everyone I met there was very kind and loved to travel so swapping stories was fun. The experience I had Firehouse will be hard to beat.

The hostel itself is in a great location downtown. However, it was very loud until 2am evem though the quiet hours posted are 12-8am. It was impossible to rest since the walls were vibrating with the sounds of the music.

You can't beat the location of this place, its just a hop, skip, and a jump away from 6th street and the downtown area. The staff are all great and very helpful. There is also a cool lounge/speakeasy on site. There is however a tradeoff, the bathrooms are a bit gross but tolerable. During my stay they were not the cleanest. As for the sleeping quarters, they were also not the best, I would have liked at least a privacy curtain (we hung up a sheet). Would stay here again!

The girl at the desk was very friendly and the rooms were clean and the location was excellent but when we got back and went to the bar the bartender was very rude and made us very uncomfortable so we had one drink and we didn't even finish it that cost 11.00 for two drinks and went to the room only to find out that our roommates were sleeping and we we're not able to turn the lights on to hang out or talk or nothing...the was my first time doing this kind of stay but it will be the last time.

Rooms were really cramped and no room to keep belongings. The AC stopped working in my room. Showers were not well-maintained (ex: no curtains on some).

It’s right on sixth street , which means in constantly noisy and there are homeless and drunk people everywhere when you walk outside. Some of the staff was friendly, others where not. It was an okay hostel if you want to party down town.
