We only mention this so you don't find yourself surprised upon arrival. Our neighbourhood is home to some of the best food and clubs Frankfurt has to offer. In fact, the New York Times even wrote an article on our upcoming neighbourhood in 2016! However, if you don't feel comfortable staying in this area, feel free to book somewhere else.

If this isn't a problem, you'll discover many upsides to our location:
- 3 min walk from the train station

- 15 min walk to the city centre, old city, and main shopping area
And - we promise - you'll find the best international food in our neighbourhood!

Look out for our LAST MINUTE SPECIALS (each bed 19,- Euro one day before arrival), and our seasonal specials.

Great place to stay--near the train station which was a plus. Many fun things to do within walking distance. Nights seem a little sketchy with all the yelling outside, however earplugs were provided which was nice.

Perfect location if you have a long layover in Frankfurt and a short walk to all of the awesome historical sites in the downtown area. Also, very close to laundry facilities if you need to wash up before heading to your next destination!

The location of the hostel is in the middle of the Red Light district (strip clubs and prostitution street). But, happily once you walk out of this street in 5minutes you are in frankfurt center! So it was very easy to go to the touristic points. I didn’t feel unsafe because the people at the street don’t mess with you, they just stay there. Inside the hostel the atmosphere is outstanding, there are free coffee, snooker and cheap happy hour beers. We did the free walking tour indicated by them.

    Very Good

The hostel is located really close to the main station, which is a good thing, but I didn't feel safe on the street while walking as there are people using drugs and other things as well! Felt a bit weird walking there by myself! But afraid! But nothing really bad happened! Apparently those people don't tend to do anything with tourists! Hostel is okay! In general it's not bad!

This hostel was in the red light district which they give you a heads up about, so I didn't mind staying on this trip since I was with my sister but I was not prepared for how sketchy this part of town actually was. I would not want to stay here as a solo female traveller. Overall the hostel was nice with good daily activities, free luggage storage, free coffee and tea, nice lounge area, and very close to the train station. There was a strange smell on the floor and in the rooms- like plumbing?

Located in a very dodgy area - middle of Frankfurt red light district with lots of people on the streets at all hours. The building itself is quite secure and staff are very diligent on watching who comes and goes but personally I wouldn’t recommend the area to females traveling alone. They have a great bar and lobby area with a good buzz and cheap drinks but for some reason the building has a really bad smell! Overall I’d give it 6/10.

It was ok. I wouldn’t say amazing. The area is absolutely terrifying. Breakfast was decent. Late night construction/fireworks/Ridiculous partying can be heard through the windows and kept me up all night. Can’t help being in the red light district but I would not go back.

Five Elements Hostel Frankfurt says

I'd say our most unique feature is that our staff love the hostel and our guests so much that they end up spending lots of their free time at the hostel! There's always someone you can talk to here. Really, our staff have been called the most friendly staff in Germany. There's free activities every night, plus billiards, a bar and a backyard.
We're quite close to the main station. We've quite close to the Main River, the museums, the botanical gardens and shopping malls. The one local place that I'd definitely recommend is the Äppelwoi pub quarter in Sachsenhausen. It's full of small unique stores, bars and restaurants. We like it so much that we offer a free pub crawl through Sachsenhausen once a week.
No matter if you come to explore the city and the beautiful area around Frankfurt, or just stop over flying in or out via Germany's biggest airport, we are happy to be your home away from home. Sarah, Manager
