In fact, the New York Times even wrote an article on our upcoming neighbourhood in 2016! However, if you don't feel comfortable staying in this area, feel free to book somewhere else.

If this isn't a problem, you'll discover many upsides to our location:
- 3 min walk from the train station
- 10 min walk to the museums/river bank
- 15 min walk to the city centre, old city, and main shopping area
And - we promise - you'll find the best international food in our neighbourhood!

Look out for our LAST MINUTE SPECIALS (each bed 19,- Euro one day before arrival), and our seasonal specials.

It was my last night in Europe and I couldn't have chosen a better place to spend that last glorious night. The staff were super warm and hospitable. There were numerous gregarious volunteers and we had a delightful time drinking cocktails and playing billiards. I even joked that I'd probably end up staying there for a month if my flight were to be cancelled due to covid regulations because there's no other place in Frankfurt I'd feel as comfortable to return to.

The hostel, despite the 'unique' neighborhood it's in, is a very nice place to stay. The location is strategic (5-10 mins walk to the station), elevator available, everything is clean, nice & simple breakfast, very friendly staffs - would love to stay here again. However during dinner time, it gets a bit crowded and people take off their masks during mealtimes in the common dining area so take your own extra measure against corona.

Large, modern Hostel. Strict covid rules. Unfortunately, nobody adhered to them (staff generally don't wear masks, common area to crowded, guest wear masks only when they feel like it...). Excellent Breakfast and even a free dinner. Great security (two doorbells and keycards). Bathrooms are spotless. Didn't check out the kitchen.

Very pleasant hostel, albeit in a slightly dodgy (but convenient) part of the city. Free breakfast and dinner was excellent, staff very friendly and helpful, great value too

The hostel is clean. The staff are friendly. It offers good security and has the necessary facilities. If the location were slightly better, it would have been perfect! But this fact was already mentioned in the description. So I like the transparency.

Amazing stay! Hostel facilities are very well maintained and clean, staff was lovely, breakfast and dinner were included in the price! The surroundings are pretty sketchy, with drug dealers and many people doing crack and heroin, but I didn't have any kind of problem or unexpected situation related to this. Besides this bad area (3 or 4 streets), hostel's location is very central and easy to go anywhere. Will definitely consider staying there again when I'm back in Frankfurt!

My experience was pretty good with this hostel. They helped me for early checkin and everything what i need. Very good staff, polite and helping. Outside is red light area so for me it wasn’t a problem. Location is very near to main station Good stay Will visit again and recommend to others

    Fabulous

Average hostel in a bad location with friendly staff and delicious dinners. Downsides: Not covid-19 safe! Only 1 shower to be shared by the entire floor. During my visit, I shared my room with a total of 4 strangers, all from different parties, despite the website saying that they give travellers separate rooms when possible (obviously a lie). Nasty neighbourhood which is not safe for women travelling alone! Upsides: Free breakfast. Super delicious free dinners! Nice atmosphere.

Five Elements Hostel Frankfurt says

I'd say our most unique feature is that our staff love the hostel and our guests so much that they end up spending lots of their free time at the hostel! There's always someone you can talk to here. Really, our staff have been called the most friendly staff in Germany. There's free activities every night, plus billiards, a bar and a backyard.
We're quite close to the main station. We've quite close to the Main River, the museums, the botanical gardens and shopping malls. The one local place that I'd definitely recommend is the Äppelwoi pub quarter in Sachsenhausen. It's full of small unique stores, bars and restaurants. We like it so much that we offer a free pub crawl through Sachsenhausen once a week.
No matter if you come to explore the city and the beautiful area around Frankfurt, or just stop over flying in or out via Germany's biggest airport, we are happy to be your home away from home. Sarah, Manager
