There is one tiny downside to our LOCATION: we are located smack dab in the middle of the RED LIGHT DISTRICT! Anyhow, it is NOT at all dangerous and our hostel has a HIGH safety standard. We only mention this so you don't find yourself surprised upon arrival. Our neighbourhood is home to some of the best food and clubs Frankfurt has to offer. In fact, the New York Times even wrote an article on our upcoming neighbourhood in 2016! However, if you don't feel comfortable staying in this area, feel free to book somewhere else.

If this isn't a problem, you'll discover many upsides to our location:
- 3 min walk from the train station
- 10 min walk to the museums/river bank
- 15 min walk to the city centre, old city, and main shopping area
And - we promise - you'll find the best international food in our neighbourhood!

Look out for our LAST MINUTE SPECIALS (each bed 19,- Euro one day before arrival), and our seasonal specials.

A great hostel. The lobby has a bar and is a cool place to hang out. This also makes it so the rooms are quieter at night because everyone who's awake hangs out in the lobby and the noise doesn't carry to the rooms. Everything is clean and well kept. Reception was very helpful and they even had a system for people to print stuff. The district was a little weird but I never felt unsafe. Walking just a few minutes gets you out of the red light area and otherwise the location is very convenient.

Great location (just across the main train station) and super helpful and friendly staff. However, you should be aware of the ubiquitous presence of junkies in the main train station and therefore around the hostel. They don't seem to be a threat but it feels that you have to take extra precautions compared to other cities.

Really good hostel. Its close to the train station but a little far away from everything else. The rooms are really good and the beds are super comfy. The only thing was the showers. It was unisex showers and they only had curtains between and a glass screen that was kinda see through. The showers flooded the bathroom too. But overall a really good stay, the staff are amazing!

    Fabulous

Great vibe, really interesting guests, great place to meet other travelers. Pics suggest it’s a party hostel, but it’s actually chill. Stayed in a 4bed dorm, bed was pretty ok. Bathrooms could’ve been a bit tidier. They warn you that it’s located in the red light district so I was expecting the worst, but it’s actually not that bad.

Don't let the location put you off, it's super close to the train station, and although there's some colourful characters around, locals say it's safe enough. Just don't walk home alone. Great prices at the bar, roomy cages to lock up your luggage If needed. The beds are comfy with thick mattresses. They provide free water, coffee, tea, bread. Staff are very helpful and most things are within walking distance. Fast Wi-Fi too, can stream Netflix. Would recommend.

    Fabulous

    29 Apr 2019
Location looks indeed dodgy, but if you don’t react to people who are approaching you with various propositions of purchasing drugs or prostitutes, or if you just respond “no”, it should be absolutely fine. The hostel itself was quite clean, can’t speak of atmosphere as I was there only at night, but we received a separate room with no extra charge for some reason, and it was very clean and hotel-level one. Staff member was also cool and helpful

    Fabulous

    15 Apr 2019
Location is in the red light district so it is a little sketchy, but they have high security to ensure that once you’re in the hostel you feel safe. There’s a free walking tour that’s only 2 blocks away which is sweet! Coffee and tea are free. Was disappointed because we stayed on “crepe night” and since there was no else who wanted to participated beside my friend and I, they cancelled it. On the other hand, they let us check in 2h early since we arrived at 6am and they let us nap.

    Very Good

    16 Apr 2019
Staff were nice, facilities are good. Very conveniently located as about 2 mins from the train station. However, it’s in a sketchy place in the middle of what is basically the red light district of Frankfurt. I would stay there again as a convenient stopping point and the beds are generally quite comfortable but location can be important for some.

Five Elements Hostel Frankfurt says

I'd say our most unique feature is that our staff love the hostel and our guests so much that they end up spending lots of their free time at the hostel! There's always someone you can talk to here. Really, our staff have been called the most friendly staff in Germany. There's free activities every night, plus billiards, a bar and a backyard.
We're quite close to the main station. We've quite close to the Main River, the museums, the botanical gardens and shopping malls. The one local place that I'd definitely recommend is the Äppelwoi pub quarter in Sachsenhausen. It's full of small unique stores, bars and restaurants. We like it so much that we offer a free pub crawl through Sachsenhausen once a week.
No matter if you come to explore the city and the beautiful area around Frankfurt, or just stop over flying in or out via Germany's biggest airport, we are happy to be your home away from home. Sarah, Manager
