There is one tiny downside to our LOCATION: we are located smack dab in the middle of the RED LIGHT DISTRICT! Anyhow, it is NOT at all dangerous and our hostel has a HIGH safety standard. We only mention this so you don't find yourself surprised upon arrival. Our neighbourhood is home to some of the best food and clubs Frankfurt has to offer. In fact, the New York Times even wrote an article on our upcoming neighbourhood in 2016! However, if you don't feel comfortable staying in this area, feel free to book somewhere else.

If this isn't a problem, you'll discover many upsides to our location:
- 3 min walk from the train station
- 10 min walk to the museums/river bank
- 15 min walk to the city centre, old city, and main shopping area
And - we promise - you'll find the best international food in our neighbourhood!

Look out for our LAST MINUTE SPECIALS (each bed 19,- Euro one day before arrival), and our seasonal specials.

For a student who was looking for a price worth place, this hostel was good. The location right next to the Hbf is also perfect, except the sudden change of mood right outside the door from the hostel for a 100 meters to the main road, a slightly creepy area with used needles even on the road. If one can ignore that, it was a really good stay. The rooms were comfortable and wash area, common spaces were clean. The staff was friendly too.

Great place to stay! It’s close to everything, but try not to walk alone around the hostel. Truly recommend this place!

Excellent facilities & staff, free breakfast was good and free dinner was insanely tasty. 3min walk to hbf, 10 to old town and river. Righto, the area. As mentioned, its bang in the middle of the red light area. Can be intimidating if you havent been around heroin addicts/pros before. Reality is the junkies keep to themselves and dont really notice you're there. Pros are quite assertive with guys and the boys working with them can be verbally aggressive. Excellent security & overall a safe area

    Fabulous

Although the hostel is super nice and has the atmosphere of a backpacker hostel, the neighbourhood is ultra dodgy with drugs and prostitutes, which makes people feel uncomfortable between the station and the hostel. The hostel is a really calm and peaceful place in this district. The staff was super nice and even offers a breakfast AND dinner! Waw! Coming from UK, I feel that additional precautions such as masks should be taken for the guests' safety in common rooms.

Really enjoyed my stay here! Great atmosphere, the staff genuinely cared about making us feel at home and contributing to a very warm environment in which we could talk to our fellow travellers. Free breakfast and supper as well, which was fantastic especially when on a tight travel budget. The rooms weren't ensuite, but I guess I am spoilt when it comes to such matters!

    Fabulous

    24 Aug 2020
We stayed here for 1 night, and generally it was pleasant stay. Pros: good staff - very helpful, free breakfast and (dinner sometimes), good shower conditions, generally clean rooms, near to central station and flixbus stop, available lockers for bags and billiard in the basement, Cons: Only big problem for someone could be the location. It located in "RED light district" and it is not pleasant. Especially if you with family and kids. homeless people around, bed smell and "girls".

    Very Good

    24 Aug 2020
The security is, and has to be, really good due to the location - surrounded by (bad) interesting characters we'll say. Good that they give free breakfasts and dinners, although like everywhere else in Germany at the moment, lacks atmosphere. Everything else was good though...

Five Elements Hostel Frankfurt says

I'd say our most unique feature is that our staff love the hostel and our guests so much that they end up spending lots of their free time at the hostel! There's always someone you can talk to here. Really, our staff have been called the most friendly staff in Germany. There's free activities every night, plus billiards, a bar and a backyard.
We're quite close to the main station. We've quite close to the Main River, the museums, the botanical gardens and shopping malls. The one local place that I'd definitely recommend is the Äppelwoi pub quarter in Sachsenhausen. It's full of small unique stores, bars and restaurants. We like it so much that we offer a free pub crawl through Sachsenhausen once a week.
No matter if you come to explore the city and the beautiful area around Frankfurt, or just stop over flying in or out via Germany's biggest airport, we are happy to be your home away from home. Sarah, Manager
