In fact, the New York Times even wrote an article on our upcoming neighbourhood in 2016! However, if you don't feel comfortable staying in this area, feel free to book somewhere else.

If this isn't a problem, you'll discover many upsides to our location:

And - we promise - you'll find the best international food in our neighbourhood!

Look out for our LAST MINUTE SPECIALS (each bed 19,- Euro one day before arrival), and our seasonal specials.

Edward is a gentleman and he was a good companion. Urshi was a great help with compassion. Surzle the guy with long hair has the most patience in the world. I loved their hospitality, welcome and kindness. I wish I had lived there longer. I am missing them with tears in my eyes while writing this review. I miss boris, eva, mariana, felix, mat and tynell. Love you all and hope to see you all soon.

The place was well located although there are many strange people around. However if you don't look at them they will not come to you. The staff was giving good advice and the bed was confortable.

    Fabulous

The surrounding area is indeed a bit strange, but no big deal though. The hostel has a cool lounge where you can meet other travelers, the breakfast is good enough, the sheets are clean, bathroom is good enough too. Just the staff wasn't very friendly, but I guess it might be because i'm used to the friendliness of the Irish and the germans might have their own version of "friendliness". For example I asked a girl at the reception if that botle had drinking water and she said "yes, with vodka".

I hated a bad attitude of the guy who was in the reception that afternoon, he sucks, was like: I dont have a choose, i work here but don't expect me to be nice, like that kind of people that only works there because needs the job. He started yelling at me because I hit the doorbell twice.. On the other hand, the girl in the morning was really nice, attentive, stunning.

Let me start with: LOCATION! Really you book this hostel simply for the fact that it's about a 2-3 minutes walk from the HBF. However the location is also a bit weird (they warn you beforehand) in the red light district, which yes they do not put lightly. However if you can get over the double edge of the location, a very decent hostel with friendly enough staff and generally well kept dorms. The showers leave something to be desired (privacy) however the atmosphere seemed great.

Very convenient location although in a very seedy area as the description says. Didn’t feel unsafe though. Nice bedrooms and bathrooms. Good beer prices at happy hour

They are still scope of improving like clogged holes in the shower. It blocks while taking shower which is quite dirty or one feels unclean. Full of drug people roaming around in front of the hotel which is quite scary sometimes as you don't know what's going to happen next.

It was a cheap choice for Frankfurt but I wouldn't recommend it if you have the opportunity to spend a little more money. The room was really cold, I barely slept at night, the overall level of cleanliness was poor, the staff was polite but not really friendly, like in other hostels and the location was average. It was near the city centre and the railway station but the area was full of drunk people, who acted weird and made me feel really scared to walk around.

Five Elements Hostel Frankfurt says

I'd say our most unique feature is that our staff love the hostel and our guests so much that they end up spending lots of their free time at the hostel! There's always someone you can talk to here. Really, our staff have been called the most friendly staff in Germany. There's free activities every night, plus billiards, a bar and a backyard.
We're quite close to the main station. We've quite close to the Main River, the museums, the botanical gardens and shopping malls. The one local place that I'd definitely recommend is the Äppelwoi pub quarter in Sachsenhausen. It's full of small unique stores, bars and restaurants. We like it so much that we offer a free pub crawl through Sachsenhausen once a week.
No matter if you come to explore the city and the beautiful area around Frankfurt, or just stop over flying in or out via Germany's biggest airport, we are happy to be your home away from home. Sarah, Manager
